Yeah i know, it just bugs me that these people have a whole sound engine to explore, with virtually endless possibilities, and yet they just say "oh i like this preset". And i've just heard each sound used so much (ie. "Somebody Told Me") that I can't even focus on whats being played. Now there is o...

Oh, alot of them are really good i think. The tape choir is really good among others. I have no problem with using presets, EXCEPT on the mk. Mostly the leads. As soon as i hear an mk preset, it just feels weird.

The Microkorg

It is unbelievable how ubiquitous the microkorg has become. I was browsing myspace the other day, and i came across several post hardcore/punk esque bands. Their line-up would look something like: Bob-Guitar John-Drums Joe-Bass Larry-Synth Now i see that and say to myself, "100 bucks says he uses a ...

Since SmartMedia cards are discontinued, surely Korg will have an updated Electribe. I was hoping for the Korg ESX-1 MKII with CF Cards last year... it seemed like an obvious move at the time. ..I'd get such a machine... I mean, what were they thinking with the smarmedia-cards? I love my ESX to dea...

Hey man have you made a decision yet?

One more thing....

One thing that the MK owns the R3 in is strings. The MK has beautiful string patches right off the bat, while i can't seem to get an uncheesy string patch on my R3. Another reason im not parting w/ my MK.

I've been rocking the 500 for about a week now. Even though the thing is tiny, it's rock solid. Sometimes i have to pound the pads a bit to get the right groove going (with the velocity sensitivity and everything), but the pads feel super solid. Even though it's only been a week the thing seems like...

Yeah, my love for p73 was based on the Security Screenings record, the track Perverted Undertone (i heard the before i got OWE), and his live performance.

I'm gonna look into the outtakes record, thanks.

Wow I am on the biggest P73 kick right now. Can't get enough of him. I picked up 'One Word Extinguisher' the other day. That s**t is pure genious. I just deleted an entire album description in the post because it doesn't do it justice. Check it out.

Gearwire.... Haha no i dont mind em, but everyone seems to hate those dudes. Look at the comments under their youtube videos, everyone shits on em. They have said a few stupid things though. Not specific gear but music in general: "Sampling is lame, and can't be considered as really making music". B...

Lots of Reverb and lots of delay to make a nice wall of sound. h**l, I use Absynth and as soon as you open a preset you've got ambience right there.

If i have to do it 'manually' i do slow attack and alot of sustain plus the forementioned Delay + Reverb.
