Heavily processed, I very much like my SR-16. I run it through compressers and distortion (a little) to make is sound fatter. I also use the hit hat sounds from the SR-16 in my MPC. Using it alone it sounds pretty cheesy but if you put the right kit together you can make something good. Sometimes I ...

Thing is I'm asking santa  for the MPC so I'd rather do retail rather than the 'bay.

Can you have mono and poly in certain parts of each program? I imagine you would want poly for drums and mono for most samples.

Also, the 500 is $600 and the 1000 is...well, $1000. Where could i get it for 100 more?

I got recycle so i really don't see it as too much of a problem.

I'll give this question a try in this thread I suppose. When you play samples on the MPC (especially instrument samples) does the audio over lap when you hit the pads? So say if you have a chopped sample and the hits run for a few seconds each, will the sustain start to run everything together, or d...

yeah man like

Nothing is going to perfectly emulate the Jupiter 8. Aurturia is going to sound as good, if not better than any compressed files of the sounds.

Yeah the MK really is a solid board...no doubt about it. Everytime I go to sell it, it just ends up being like "....yeah, i still kinda want this...". I've never sold any gear because im afraid I'll write a song and have a sound in mind and it will be exactly on a piece of gear i sold (such as the M...

Wow...chopping samples is really fun. I've been at it for quite a few hours between last night and today (it snowed like a b***h in the northeast last night, so no school for the streets). Too bad i got no sampler to dump them all in. Quick question, Can you only store 4 banks of samples at a time i...

Oh ok. Well it's definatly useful fo just taking the little pencil and chopping. I don't do loops. Unless i write them. When I'm finished chopping there's vitually no rhythm to it. It's all stabs.

Alrighty so... Been working with some samples in recycle. Mostly piano stuff because that's what i love. I did two drum breaks, one from a 311 song (you can't beat Chad Sexton's snare drum), and one from the intro of a Billy Joel song. It's alot of trial and error right now, since I don't have my MP...
