Re: Vocoder/ Wiard 300 Series Experimental Track

Thanks for the comments. I agree about the clarity, I tried to improve it and it got worse! Still with experience it should improve.

A few posts in on that blog there are some Wiard samples that I did when I first got the system together.

Vocoder/ Wiard 300 Series Experimental Track

I have just completed a short experimental piece “I had lost my friend (No way out)”. I was trying out Native Instrument’s Vokator vocoder and the Wiard modular. I decided to combine the exploration by switching the vocoder into classic mode and using the Wiard as the carrier. So everything here is ...

Re: CSQ-600!!!

I have a CSQ100, I bought it in 1981 I think. I also have the SH2, my first synth. CSQ100 is a bit more basic but I did use a CSQ600 for a recording session in 82. One thing, and I can't quite remember how I did it..but in addition to a sequencer you can use it as a kind of quantiser. I think I did ...

Re: Kraftwerk's Sex Object string

Unless you find a sample set. I'm not sure I've seen one. I have a few for the fairlight and EmuII I got for free from Hollow Sun. They might have expanded that in their now pay for sample sets.

Re: Kraftwerk's Sex Object string

Another vote for Synclavier. I think Bartos complained that they got one and it was so expensive they had to keep using it to justify the expense (that's what he said anyway). I thought it was littered with samples, in fact almost all samples and I personally found it a disappointing album after Com...

I guess you get your inspiration from the sound. I get mine from the sound and the programming, so it's probably not for me.

I started with a cracked version of Pro24 on an Atari, quickly moving to Cubeat. I was amazed when I returned music about 15 years later that although steinberg hadn't got my registration card for the new Cubase SX I bought, they still had me on the database from that Cubeat installation. I used Cub...

The two people that got me into synths, Tim Blake (Gong, Hawkwind and solo) and Richard Pinhas (Heldon), particularly on the album East/West with the Moog 55, PPG modular (I think) and lots of other stuff.

I still have my Roland CSQ 100 from the early 80s. Haven't used it in ages but I think I can use it as a complex envelope generator..I think.

I also have a new Wiard sequantizer which I've only just started to use.
