Yeah, the MP-7 would get it done. There are still a lot of synth presets and lots of editing can be done. If you end up wanting more sounds, the XL-7 rom is usually only around $100 on Ebay. There's also the Yamaha RS7000 which is sort of a beefed up RM1X with sampling capabilities. They usually sell for a couple hundred less than the MC-909.
