OK, supermel time for some brain picking...why did you get rid of the 606? What did you like most about it? What did you like least ? I got rid of it because I was getting an MC-909. I probably actually liked the time stretching the most. It was my first phrase sampler so I was pretty impressed wit...

I'm a former SP 606 owner. I don't recall any problems with the unit choking up when synching 2 or more samples but I guess that wouldn't surprise me. I did notice that when you send it too much midi data it got ckoked up, at least mine did. As far as the time stretching, I actually thought it was v...

Re: Nord2x or Micron...first synth
I do not think I plan on programming presets but who knows...the micron comes with great presets not sure about the nord. But I assume with the more buttons accessible on the nord it may be easier to use? Disclaimer: I have never used either one. Perasonally, if I had that choice, I would take the ...

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was hoping to hear. Any opinions on the sound?Non-Digital Tom wrote:The Moog Theremins are real musical instruments, with a range and depth of expression limited only by the player's ability (or lack thereof), whereas most other Theremins are more or less novelty toys.

Moog Theremin users
I'm currently messing around with a cheap theremin. It doesn't even have a volume antenna. It sounds ok , but I mostly use it to trigger other sound modules with a pitch to midi converter. The main problem is that it has a fairly limited range and it will jump pitch here and there. I guess the quest...

I think one of the things that fuels people's fascination with the analog gear -- apart from the sound -- is the fact that they can be user-serviced and hotrodded. That won't really be possible with the digital gear of today. Not quite "hotrodded" but supposedly changing the tubes in the EMX and ES...

One way of doing it would be to place the sample that you want to loop on the step where you want the loop to start, then place it agian at the step right where the loop would start again if it were actually looping on it's own. Instead of looping automatically, it's being retriggered. If you decide...
