I love my Vintage Pro. It's unlikely that I'll ever own over 30 vintage synths so for me it's the next best thing. Really flexible (and deep)as a synth in it's own right too, even though I rarely ever go much beyond the quick edits. I think the best value rom of the bunch is the Composer rom. You ge...

Get a rompler with a vintage expansion of some kind. Nobody in the crowd will know the difference unless there just happens to be a purist synth freak in the crowd.

That's what I was thinking and then noticed his location. Gear is expensive in Australia. I actually just picked up a like new(customer return) EA1 MK for $175.

Personally, I would pay more for a Poly 800 that already had the mod providing it was done properly.

Every knob on the Novation Stations send midi controller messages so they make great controllers and they sound really good too(at least the older K line does, haven't heard the Xs) You said you want more than 3 octaves so the either the KS4 or KS5 would be perfect I would think.

The knobs on the Prophet 08 feel really, REALLY weak to me. That synth would be ten times more attractive to me if the encoders were reasonably firm. I don't understand why so many manufacturers seem to be forgetting how great it feels to adjust a solid control, whether it be a knob or a slider. Th...

[That was just my guess since I very rarely see anything around here. I've probably seen less than 10 knobby, vintage synths that I didn't own in alabama. Do you have a modular? I've been trying to figure out if I'm the only person in Alabama who owns a modular. :D I'm guessing that you are seeing ...
