The opinions of the sound of the ER-1 vary. I'm not a fan, but the sequencer is awesome. Some of the sounds are good, I just mute the others. I would bet the es-1 is a better value, but I got a good deal on the er-1, that's why I have one. If you are considering the 707, you might consider it's cous...

If you want a 909 on a budget it seems like your best bet would a Novation Drum Station with either a Korg ER-1 or ES-1 (depending on which one you think you would get the most use out of). That way you get the sweet tweakable sounds (albiet digital) and the x0x programming. It's like a VA 909 adn 8...

I made a feedback loop with my EA1 and ER1 both runnging sequences to modulate eachother's feedback. It was so fun and uncontrollable. You tweak one little thing it would change eveything. Everybody who has these boxes and likes having fun should try this. How would you go about having the two modu...

In addition the DJX (seriously, you want this from me  ), there are tons of cheap drum machines to be had. Using the the completed listings search on ebay shows that you will likely want to pick up a zoom or a Yamaha RX. Also, sorry for all the plugs but I have the following for sale that may i...

well, I didn't mean that affordable... I'm talking real vocal processors, fx. just funnin', but they are pretty rad. Zoom GFX-707 is also in the crazy dirt cheap range and does amp sim, reverb, delay (with the ability to assign time to exp. pedal), pitch shift/harmonize, distortions, chorus, flange...

there are about 8million variations on this thing: http://img.alibaba.com/photo/11677306/Slim_Voice_Changer.jpg If you add a couple 1/4 jacks (or just mic it if you're really dirty) this can do some cool stuff. Circuit bending also opens up alot of options. Some of them will give you pitch shift eff...

I can't over-emphasize it enough: You can't just use any willy-nilly power supply with these Boss pedals. Spend the $20 and get a PSA-120. That will get rid of the hum. Reason being is that they tend to want 9V exactly, whereas generic power supplies will change voltage, depending on current draw, ...

It's a bit of a stretch, but the Realistic Electronic Reverb does some wierd stuff to signal with all the echo turned down, especially if you mess with the input volume. It's been a while since I had one, so I'm not sure, but it's a cheap option if you don't have one already that might be worth chec...

So did Vintage Synth Explorer lie, or what? It says that the JP-8 is $500-$1500... I really love warm, fat analog sounds though, what else would be recommended at a maximum of say... $1000 Those prices can't really be trusted. The synth market changes alot, but mostly stuff gets more expensive. I c...

It sounds good, the interface is a piece of cake if you're OK with a 2-digit hexadecimal code system, and the only problem really is the mono out. Just use it within its limits, and it's a great machine. You will need to make sure you use DD floppies, or HD that have been reformatted. You need to b...
