nono. I mean, when you are sequencing something externally and you set each voice to trigger the right voice via midi... Pattern save or not. anytime you make changes in the Global and MIDI sections in the grid menu, you must store them before returning to the pattern, otherwise your changes won't ...

I use mine mostly as a sequencer, but it drives me nuts because it does not save midi note data when you turn it off. Does anybody know if I am wrong? I'm tired of reprogramming it eveytime I want to sequence. I used to have one, and it stores patterns of notes. That's why you have a write button. ...

It's a fun box, though.

+1 on the ESQ-1. Some stuff anyway. I swear I made a sound that was straight out of Gauntlet for the NES. Here's a few really cheap ways to get great sounds, especialy with a sampler: Nintendo Gameboy Camera - 3 part sequencer (two tone parts and a noise source) with some sfx, etc. C64 Music Machine...

Wow. Fidelity would be great! Does anything like that exist. I mean, I know a bunch of tricks to make stuff sound shitty, but an all-in-one box would be great.

I'm surprised koruz didn't make it.

Tyler, you said I should steer clear of the Novations...... do you also think the Supernova should be avoided? I've used the K-Station and not been that impressed with that, but I've heard a *lot* of good things about the Supernova...... i think tyler was telling you that the novation synths seem g...

That's always sort of annoying, but to me I mostly just play around with midi so it's no big deal. I have a very few tracks with lots of synced gear. Currently: Korg ER-1 out>in Korg EA-1 thru>in Commodore64 thru>in Siel MDP-40 ---------- the same Korg EA-1 out>in Roland HS-64 also Ensoniq ESQ-1 out...

I'm glad you folks tore down the VZ. I was considering it.

As for rackmounting one...I've opened one up before and I would need to fold the board, which i am not willing to mess with. Oh well.

I def. don't want FM. PM just sounds so sweet. Oh and about the VST, I don't really roll that way....

My MG-1, I understand, is pretty close to the Rogue. I love that synth. Can't speak for the kawai

the alesis is pretty crappy build and a kid would have that ruined in a short time.... you can put together a cheap acoustic set....they do sell childres sets as well. hit craigslist....many great deals on complete drum sets. I think tama used to sell practice pads, you could get a whole kit...so d...

closest thing to a rackmount cz synth?

I really miss my CZ-101, but I don't need more keyboards. I have plenty so now when I get synths I've been trying to find rack versions. So are there rack synths with phase-distorion synthesis?
