I run a whole lot of stuff through guitar pedals and I've had a lot of success without having to use a reamp box. I was under the impression they were more for getting the right impedance for some picky valve input stages in amps, rather than pedals. Not saying a reamp box won't make any difference...

controlling juno 6 arpeggiator clock

can anyone who knows please chime in on some of the devices that can do this--send arpeggiator clock to the juno 6?

will a midi to cv/gate converter enable me to control it with a midi source, such as an mpc? i'm guessing no dice, but....

any info most appreciated. thanks,
eric

not having had this experience, can't answer atkbg's question. anyone?

i will say this--the prophet does some weird stuff sometimes. often i'm left wondering things like whether the glide is working correctly, or whether i just imagined the sonic glitch i just heard when i turned this or that knob.

y'know, there kind of is. if nothing else, you gain a point of common reference with a huge chunk of the synth community.

but there's more, of course.

have fun with it!

Dano, thanks for your thoughtful reply.

James, good to see you back.

DavidRyle, that was good stuff...along with some other posts here, including Dano's, helped me realize that i am, in fact, suffering from my first full-fledged case of GAS in a long time.

what to sell, what to sell?

i feel my synths are all great bang for buck: prophet 600-my pick for the best vco analog poly bargain out there alpha juno 2--phenomenal sound sculpting possibilities and my main midi controller...though i guess it wasn't that big a bargain after i sprang for the pg-200 bass station--tasty bread an...

as one who has always wanted to dip a toe into the world of waldorf--and who is fascinated with the old ppg gear--does this seem like the best solution? from what i've read it's a smorgasbord of waldorf sounds, but perhaps i'm missing the finer points of distincion between the various whale village ...

I'll be a very happy man if it comes with some fancy software sequencing abilities as well. I hear that... was sampling something they thought about on this machine? I wouldn't mind forgetting about an MPC forever. why? on the sampling question, i had assumed it would have sampling capability...gue...

they tend to be buggier than a flophouse these days, which is of course to be expected. they sure do take regular servicing.

interesting, itsjustme...and your explanation came across fine. i'll have to remember to adjust attack next time this happens (though i know this was not the CAUSE of my problem--perhaps it will be the solution)! i have not had the problem again since i posted (of course--like when you go to the doc...

He was talking about the Prophet, not the MKS. Oh, well then, .... never mind. Seriously, a nice Prophet 600 just sold on ebay for $565 + $40 shipping. That is a pretty good deal. And I agree, it's perhaps the best synth bargin right now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=1801...
