Wave indexing on the emu command stations
I know the ultraproteus can pull it off, but someone here passingly mentioned the rom:Play Through wave on the command station. Well I've been messing around with the wave and all I get is a clicky mess. I've attempted to adjust the wave start in addition to modulating the wave loop, start, and rest...

Re: Synth sadness: overworked and underplayed.
I think it depends on the kind of job you're doing though... When I had a job a while ago during the summer holidays concreting on construction sites it was no fun. I'd get there at 7 am and leave at 6 after a day of pretty intense physical labor 5-6 days a week. At the end of the day I would be so...

Re: Synth sadness: overworked and underplayed.
I'm fortunate in some ways. For every 12 hour or longer shift there is usually a nice five or six hour day. Of course there is also the issue of occasionally having to work till 3am and having to be back at the warehouse by 8am. It wouldn't bother me so much if the moronic scheduling weren't avoidab...

Re: sh-201
Cool thanks for all the info guys. Honestly though I've decided I'm better off just picking up some more roms for my command station. I might consider the sh201 in the future though.

Plugging the a-189-1 into the insert of the sound of shadows is like having Merzbow personally show up at your door stop. Its the ultimate noise maker.Hair wrote: Sound of Shadows Doepfer A-189-1

sh-201
I'm in the market for an affordable subtractive poly synth with plenty of real time control and the sh201 is starting to look attractive due to both its simple user interface and cost. I tried one a couple years back at the local guitar center for a whopping ten minutes, and while nothing really ble...

Re: Opinions on the Virus Rack...
I've read somewhere that the encoders have bugs... Is it true? Judging from the posts over at the infeckted forums and my own experience they are indeed buggy. Values jump around while turning the damn things so you can forget about doing any real time tweaking. The racks are best paired with a mid...

Re: Cheap sampler/sequencer just for drum samples
I use an 808 with an ESX and I concur with the guys who recommended that combo; where one fails, the other excels. A match made in heaven, imo. But if you want to keep it on the cheap, I would recommend the Zoom ST-224. The sequencer is bare bones and dead easy to use for a simple drum beat. it als...

Re: software modular sequencing enviroments?
All the DAW software I work with (live, digital performer, logic, pro tools) all have midi capable features. I route midi to my hardware from the DAW all the time, along with quantizing, and what have you. When I say quanitizing I don't mean it in the traditional timing correction sense. Basically ...

software modular sequencing enviroments?
I realize that Reaktor, Max MSP, Kyma, etc exist, but aside from kyma and MSP I'm not exactly sure if there are any capable of controlling hardware units. Basically I desire something in the vein of the nord modular g1 or g2 software that can send midi to hardware synths. I pretty much just want a b...
