Re: AN1x demo....finally
There is a possibility that at this moment you don't quite understand what synthesizers are about. The internet is full of people who perpetuate the myth of 'badass, mean synth sound' - it's so easy to fall for it. So what exactly are synthesizers about? Also it seems to me that the vast majority o...

Re: does anyone else feel this way about the DSI MEK
How do the pots on the desktop model compare to the ones on the Mono Evolver? Are they better, as in more durable? I know they're stepped rather than smooth encoders, but I'm guessing this doesn't lead to zipper noise when tweaking the filter?

Re: BlackGnosis: (cover) The cure - lovesong
now that I think it.... I really don't care if anyones got their bs reasons to not look, they'd complain about the style anyways. You know I don't mean to be a d**k, but my problem with furries is that they tend to wear their sexual fetish on their sleeves. Ok you like weird s**t, but christ don't ...

Re: Why buy hardware synths?
I don't want to use software because I already spend too much time in front of a computer researching my next hardware purchase and arguing over which format is better.

Re: DIY Modular kits / DIY semi-modular kits?
Any one modify the paia fatman? How hard are the mods to do? Especially for someone who has very little soldering experience? I'm talking about the simple circuits, like implementing hard sync, adding a sub octave generator, and looping the simple filter envelope. the schematics and part lists for t...

Re: yamaha TG-33?
Holy c**p, I've owned a sy35 and two tg 33's before, and recently I picked up a sy22 locally from an original owner, however this is the first time I've actually delved into the little 2op fm section. I've finally kind of stumbled upon sounds which are extremely similar to the pss 270-680 series key...

Re: Yamaha - enemies of synthsis!
Nah its just hard to believe that it cannot be done, considering how they manufacture things these days etc. One thing I noticed about this forum people really like their gear but anytime someone mentions of reintroducing something or making something new you get all anal with "Its impossible, too ...

Re: Yamaha - enemies of synthsis!
Ok Mr.Expert, until I actually hear from Yamaha about all this s**t I am going to assume that new CS-80s would be cheaper to make than in the past and would sell for a cheaper price too I assure you that your assumption is wrong. The main thing that has made some electronics cheaper over time is gr...

Re: Quick Roland SP404 question
Thanks for the warning, I'm extremely finicky about samplers, and I really like the es1 despite its limitations. I resoldered the outputs a bit last night and that seems to have helped. The outputs where basically shorting out if the audio cables coming out the back where moved even the slightest bi...

Quick Roland SP404 question
Probably not going to pick up another sampler for quite a while, but I am considering a sp404 to eventually replace my es1. Anyway does the sp404 have the ability to pitch a sample up and down in a purely traditional manner? By this I mean the ability to adjust pitch without using any sort of time s...

Re: Roland MC-303 vs Korg Electribe ?
This is actually incorrect. The ea-1 is basically a stripped down microkorg/ms2000 va engine while the er-1 is a virtual analog drum synth with sample's for hihat, clap, etc. Actually this is incorrect too, the EA-1 and ER-1 were developed from the Korg Z1's analogue tone modelling generators. Both...
