I had a CS-10 last year and loved it. Its hands down one of the niceist synths for bass. Its got great snappy envelopes and the PMW sounds really meaty. I kinda regret selling it, my CS-40M's envelopes are far more sluggish and are not as nice really. But everything else on the CS-40M is absolutally...

Favorite Sounds

Whats your favorite sounds on your gear? Andromeda: Synth Brass - they are just really thick and warm. Unison - Its just massive. Pads - The warmth is just increadible. Jupiter-4: Basses - really punchy raw sounds. Unison - Not quiet as big as the andy but much more dirty. Leads - Really ballsy and ...

If it is B then it should not be too big a problem. The keyboard mechenism on the Jupiter-4 is simple and if you open up the top, its right there in front of you. Open her up and se if there is a missing spring or somthing. Oh yeah, to open up the Jupiter-4 just remove the 4 screws on the front pann...

My Andromeda is the first synth iv owned to offer 2 independent filters per voice. It really opens up the tonal pallete. Mixing the massivly warm 24bd sound with the more cutting BP or HP sound creates some extreamly powerful patches. I love leaving 1 filter stationary and modulationg the other, its...

Ill second that. The JX-3P does not have a right snappy envelope so it sometimes lacks a bit of punch. The SH range and even a small CS are ideal for basslines. They are in your budget too.

Yes i have been working hard. So far this year i have done 38 gigs and simply put my gigging money towards the A6. I love it, it compliments my JP-4 so well. The JP-4 is raw and dirty (i consider it to be a polyphonic early SH) while the andy is more smooth and warm. The drum sounds are great. I mad...

I got a new favorite (now with pics)

I am just totally blown away by the power of my Andromeda. I have spent the last 4 days programming it and its just amazing. I have created 12 of my my own patches and a few mixes and can now comment on its sound. The sound of my A6 reminds me very much of some of the old curtis machines. A lot of t...

There are a number of reasons we still use the vintage gear. Stuff like the Juno-106 and SH-101 have a classic sound but they also have quiet a lot of character. Thats why i like old gear so much, character. Modern analogue gear sounds awsome but fails to emulate old synths exactly. Some old synths ...

I know i don't shut up about it..the Jupiter-4 has an awsome sounding VCA distortion. It gives sounds more of a dirty 'evil' feel.

For me, it was The Human League. I loved 'Dare' when i first heard it but when i heard 'Reproduction' and 'Travelogue' i just fell in love. Those two albums changed my life and are my favorite albums EVER.

I used to have a CS-10 before i upgraded to my CS-40M and it was a wicked little synth. I thought its best features by far were its very fast attack time and the awsome external audio input. I used to filter my drum machine through its HP filter.
