Arturia Summer Sale?
Arturia currently has a buy one get one sale on. I'm thinking of going for it... But the question is... Which ones? I know I don't want Minimoog V (already demoed it and minimonsta and liked minimonsta better) and I know I don't want ARP2600V (already demoed it and liked timewARP better)... and I kn...

Re: New Problem
So i got a bassline program. creakbox badboy. sounds pretty neat. but for some reason there's not actual detection of any midi being done. ableton just doesn't detect that it's playing so i can't really record it. i want to get this working real bad. i can still use ableton to host the plugin and i...

Almost all of the "mainstream" daws are more or less identical functionality wise, so it all boils down to workflow and personal preference. I personally use logic because I'm addicted to the hyper editor for midi functions. I just love that I can stepsequence any parameter that is exposed to automa...

I find myself liking logic's sequencing much moreso than the hardware sequencers I've tried (electribes, MPC, alesis fusion)... I like making individual patterns on X0X boxes, but I don't like arranging those patterns into songs outside of software... But I've managed to find software methods to rep...

I assumed that the MicroKorg would be in the top 3, if not number one by now. you have to keep in mind that back in the 80s, anyone who wanted a "keyboard" had to buy a synthesizer. There were no digital pianos. Nowadays you only buy a synthesizer when you actually want a synthesizer... Which is a ...

any decent audio interface should be able to get low enough latency for playing softsynths with no noticeable lag. The reason latency is sometimes considered to be a problem with cheaper interfaces is that latency is doubled when using a computer for effects processing and such (as it adds the laten...

I personally would use reaktor or max/msp before resorting to VMware fusion type silliness. Though those seem more "digital" and "computerized" compared to the more analog-emu vaz. Or Moog Modular V by Arturia, though Arturia doesn't seem to have the best rep ever for stability. I'm quite interested...

The main issue is the Linux OS...there are currently no commercial Linux music apps so you won't be able to use just any MIDI/audio interface, DAW and softsynth you feel like. there is a Linux version of Energy XT although it's still in beta it's quite usable from what I understand. check their for...
