hrm. Still doesn't quite have the form factor of the duet... http://www.apogeedigital.com/images/duet_gallery5_lg.jpg I think it's more or less decided then unless I'm missing something. The duet can fit in my front pocket even. I don't really need all those analog line inputs like on the ultralite,...

Very portable firewire audio interfaces for laptops?
Basically I really like the idea of the apogee duet... The only problem is that it doesn't have a separate output channel for headphones and main outs... Which sucks for DJing (I know I can create a combined device on OSX and use the computer's headphone jack, but that's a bit of a workaround...) Ar...

Mitch - try to stay on topic, eh? Worrell was pretty specific in his question about clavinets - what have Rhodes got to do with anything? Umm... He asked why, in light of the rhodes' revival, the clavinet doesn't have something similar? I replied with my opinion, which is that the rhodes was revive...

Its actually based on the heavily chopped up BSD kernal. It has about as much in common with unix as windows XP has with VMS and RMX (on which it is "based"). Their claim is more marketing then computing. Anyway.. yeah, as i said, it's based on Unix. Actually, leopard is fully unix compliant to the...

logic is great. Also you might want to look at Digital Performer... That DAW doesn't seem to get that much love for some reason, but I think it looks great. Also mac only BTW. I've had zero problems with logic or my iMac, which if far more than I can say of the multitude of windows machines I've use...

Re: Reaktor Drum Machines in Logic
Ok, been using hardware for many years now...and used to use stuff like Fruity Loops and Reason when I did use software. I have used plug-in synths and samplers... however, I have never used a plug-in drum machine which has its own sequencer. I was wondering how those work. I mean, when you use a d...

there are a couple different things you can do here, sometimes depending on the drum plugin itself. in all the plugins I've found for drums, they respond to the host's sequencer... They is, they start and stop when the host does and lock to the hosts tempo. where the differences come in is how you c...
