Hrm, I suppose it would make the most sense to put in USD, since that seems to be the main currency on the internet... I'm going to say that if I wait another 2 weeks for my next paycheck and sell my drumkit that sitting around here collecting dust... 1200 USD or so? That's enough to snag a used NL3...

So is the question really, what VA would one really want? I just can't imagine choosing something like a Nord Lead over a truly great analog synth, like a Sunsyn, Omega 8, or even an Andromeda, let alone a great modular system with cv/midi... Well, the problem is that A) I need it to be a controlle...

I'd save up for something nice. I feel bad for people that seem to get stuck with "mid-grade" gear. Yeah you can just about make anything ... but will it be fun ?? Are you of the opinion that the nord lead 3 isn't "nice"? I pretty much have my eyes on that one precisely because it would be very fun...

Well, the 2x didn't really fit because it didn't have aftertouch, but the 3 has AT and those excellent LED knobs... And at the time I needed the money for a DAW.

Frig, If I hand another grand the question would be a vs thread instead (g2x vs TI...) but I don't... haha I could actually make money if I got the X-Station, since I could trade in the ozonic as well as the AN1X... Instead of the other plan of trading in the ozonic for a motu and getting a new synt...

Hm, the X-Station is a good suggestion, but I don't really need the audio interface... I'll look into a KS5 however.

If you could have just one hardware synth...

If you could only have one hardware synth to pair up with masses of software, what would it be? I am looking at that exact situation right now... I'm trying to come up with something that is knobby (if I was going to use a soft editor, I may as well just use software), has good performance controls,...

personally id like to see arturia do an OB-8 or Xpander :D
You can't use synthedit to make a mac version. you have to code it from scratch... Or make a pluggo with MAX/MSP I guess.

The pitch stick is worth the extra cost IMO. Once you get used to it, you will hate pitch wheels.

I recall one of the waldorf pulse's presets being used on one of his songs, but I can't recall which one (rock is dead maybe?)

Probably Clavia for hardware.

Either Vember Audio or Virsyn for software.
