Swiffer Dusters make cleaning between knobs and sliders very easy. And they collect the dust rather than simply move it around. However, be sure to not get the scented refills, which leave a residue.

Good point. There may have been legal wranglings. However, Gibson would only be able to prevent the use of the name, "Oberheim." They could not stop the making of an emulation. And I doubt that GMedia-GForce would simply abandon all of the work done to date.

And then I have full-sized sheets that drape atop the stands, thereby keeping dust from the frames and (already covered) synths. When uncovered, I dust them every c...

That was in 2006. Silence since then, as far as what I have (not) heard.

GMedia/GForce S.O.B. News?

Anyone heard anything about S.O.B.? It's been a year since I last heard anything new. Is this a dead project? Did they show (or even mention) it at NAMM?

P.S. Yes, a rhetorical question, which cannot be answered in a locked thread.

And, really stretching the "similar" definition...Prophet 10 and Creamware Pro-12.

I'm not going to get into a list of all of the soft synths that replicate vintage synths in my studio.

Ah, I did not think of this. I also am in the Microkorg-MS2000BR camp.

And on the subject of similar...Matrix 1000 and Cheetah MS6.

LOL It's a lot easier to read the slightly obstructed writing on the back panel on the Andromeda on the left than of the front panels of the Polymorphs or Virii in that wall.

By the way, when testing the soft synths, it is imperative to disable the effects. Yes, I realize that that seems obvious, but one would be surprised how many people don't think of it. The effects-laden sounds of the ARP 2600V are a far cry from what a dry ARP 2600 sounds like. Turn off the effects,...
