Damn, those people sure were idiots. All those PC boards just to make six notes of polyphony? If those ARP shmucks had paid attention to changing technologies, they'd have noticed that Oberheim had just concocted one of the best ways to create polyphony - as Sequential Circuits was in the process o...

Darn it, Micke, you just reminded me of a good dozen film scores about which I had forgotten and now I lust after! :D

Excellent info, as always. Thanks!

I wondered the same thing, when I read the title, Tallow. But, upon reading the thread, I realized (hopefully correctly) that it was actually examples of DX200 sounds that the poster was seeking. So, I have modified the thread title to reflect such. If I am incorrect, then please tell me JS, so that...

Ah, I had forgotten about the logo light on the back of the keyed TIs. That reminded me about the blue LED on the back of the A6. It's facing the opposite direction of where I was sitting, but, now, moving to another part of the room, I can see its glow. My daughter used to have light-up shoes too. ...

Re: Just got a Micron

By the way, if you really dislike flashing lights on synths, don't ever get a Poly Evolver keyboard or a Virus TI. When I have both those things cranked up it looks like a police car crashed into a Xmas tree in my studio. LOL I am in my studio right now, and I have my PEK, TI (rack), NL3 (rack) and...

Hi, JP. Welcome to VSE, and congrats on the Micron acquisition. As an FYI, your post really contains two parts: a request for help in using your Micron; and an inquiry about the purchase of a MIDI controller. Both of these subjects belong in other sections: HELP and BUYER's GUIDE, respectively. I'm ...

The nostalgic side of me wishes that Dave Smith had continued the Prophet family name with the Evolvers.

But, regardless whatever names his instruments have been given, they all sound beautifully unique. Dave is a master synth designer.

Firstly, I think that "natural" is not applicable to plastic. :) Secondly, looking carefully, the entire bottom part of the synth is the same colour. The control panel appears slightly darker. Does that mean Photoshop? Not necessarily. Could simply be two different pieces with two different shades. ...
