Re: Downsizing (which synths can I sell?)
I dunno, all my discs loaded fine on a Mac, showed up as IBM PC 720k. I use Cyclone in Pro Tools with DDMF Metaplugin. All the inputs and outputs show up there more clearly than they do in most DAWs! It's 8 mono and two polyphonic. But I haven't used the feature since I don't use Cyclone for playbac...

Re: Downsizing (which synths can I sell?)
To me, and the kind of music I like making (mostly 80s synth-funk, Electro etc.) it doesn't seem to make a difference if I use a 2nd generation DX (TX-802) or the original DX-7 Cool. Personally I'd sell the DX-7 and the rack and buy a nice weighted keyboard (or a modern controller with assignable s...

Max or Pure Data are usually recommended, but this is more advanced if you can do C++:

Re: Iomega SCSI ZIP 100 with a CASIO FZ-20M
Switch termination on, on the Zip- assuming you've no other SCSI devices in the chain (and if you get issues, simply switch termination off!). But you should seriously consider investing in SCSI2SD instead. Far more reliable, easier to manage your files, and it'll be as fast as SCSI can possibly be.

Re: Yamaha CS-10, EG issue
Interesting! Maybe the external audio trigger level circuit is sending a wrong voltage? I don't think the CV trigger socket would be the issue, IIRC that does not bypass the keyboard, it adds to it.

or perhaps playing and capturing a bunch of stuff in the search for some kind of musical nugget of gold which they can then work and refine... Ya, I think anything will do as inspiration really. For me, if I dial down the critic it works a lot better. Totally random things can spark ideas. Actually...

Re: Synthesizers with awesome arpeggiators
I think I cut and pasted that entire SOS thread into a word document somewhere - must look for it. I did that because (Bill Marshall?) the creator of the Zyklus got chatting to Stephen Kay over that thread where they were considering how what you'd get if you passed Zyklus realtime sequences into t...

Re: Yamaha CS-10, EG issue
OK, I hear you but my money is still on the settings in the link... if not, I'd seriously consider going to a qualified tech, because this synth is worth good money these days. But failing that next steps: 1. Check if the switch works properly, it could be that it has failed completely. 2. Check for...
