Stab is right. It's totally possible, although it is awkward, and you won't get quite the original sounds you had. It just requires graft, and planning. I'll try to avoid a long post, but you have a LONG PT session ahead of you! :) Redo the plugin settings that you had- PT will at least tell you wha...

Oops, my bad. Somehow I missed this part...

Would it not be better to check the capacitance from the schematic instead of measuring it, or use the value stated on the component- because changing capacitance due to aging is precisely the reason one replaces them?

456 doesn't work well because it's too thick, is only lubricated on one side, and requires a higher bias level than most echo units can produce. Loop length is not an issue, just put enough in there so that it doesn't wear out too quickly but avoid too much coz it might snag on the transport. If you...

Are there any sample CDs of early PPG gear, like the 340 and 360 etc.?

Thanks !! About that lead: I thought Minimoog too, but I just liked to have some confirmation about that. If anybody'd still have a different thought, please let me know. It sounds like PWM to me, which a MiniMoog doesn't have as standard. But it was a common mod, TD are very likely to have had it....

The sample you hear is not saying "Edgar!" it's saying "Wake Up!" it comes from a custom-built Publison sampler. I've read interviews with Froese where they've said it's "Edgar" and laughed about it, and numerous online reviews which say it's "wake up". It's not very clear, but it's a cool sound. G...

T Dream- Logos: guess the synths

Liking this album a lot at the mo. Some great sounds. I guess that flute that crops up a lot is a Minimoog. And the bit with the sampler where it sounds like they're saying "Edgar!"- that transposed chord sound is a P5 I'm guessing. Lots of gritty fliterless PPG Wave computer on there also, and typi...

I used it a few years ago, it was fiddly but amazing at the time for the price. It must have improved since then.

Check out Reaper, that IS amazing. Pro Tools LE killer.

Cool, that's one of the preset basses, isn't it? The perfect sound. Have you tried the step sequencing? It's a great way to compose.

Nice track, bounces along well, you're really working the CS there. Quite commercial actually! I think you could make a living with that, in library music for example. Lots of posters here doing just that. Yes, the balance is biased towards drums and bass. The CS synths are not the most strident of ...

The keyboard on the CZ-1 is not very good. Too shallow for real expressivenes. I play mine via an Akai MX1000, real piano action, it's far better.

It's an issue with the ESI4000, poor internal grounding causes leakage of MIDI signals. It's possible to wire up your system to avoid it, standard stuff for avoiding ground loops, but it's hassle. The easiest workaround is to use the S/Pdif outputs, your guaranteed no noise that way, assuming you're...

the only thing i feel is missing is looping There is looping, but only in step time. You use the repeat marks, like real music :) Personally I wouldn't go so far as to say it sounds bigger than a 101/ 1000. It has slightly better sound quality alright, but layering is still only monophonic, and the...
