chimay eh? that wasn't cheap the last time I checked! It's a price/performance thing. A bottle of Grande Reserve is like tac nuke. Sure, it's expensive, but goddamn . What I meant was that although tallow was complaining about us being rich and buying lots of synths, while he only has chimay, gf, e...

Santa forced me to buy a cheap S-612 with disk drive... he wanted to punish me with 1 sec. sample time, and 12-bit, 32khz resolution for being such a naughty synth purchased this year!

(from other "misconceptions" thread) Someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong, but the cs5/10/15/30 are identical internally Not quite. Interestingly there are different envelopes in the things; the CS-15 uses flip-flops and transistors, but the 10 (or 5, or both, I can't remember) use custom ICs. Not...

"the envelopes on the CS15 aren't as fast as the CS10" :? Are you sure? (I'm getting a cs-15 and was worried about that rumor). it's exactly that-a stupid rumor started by someone who clearly never used both... prolly a cs10 owner who wanted to feel better about not owning a cs15! Someone PLEASE co...

Why do people insist on still propagating the ridiculous myth that the CS10 somehow has faster envelopes than the cs15? Was there one ignorant cs15 review out there that started this?

+1. :) Like I said, it's like listening to a time capsule! I don't remember the "Blue Sky" patch sticking out to me, but then, I don't have a CS-30, I have a CS-30L which lacks the sequencer (plus a couple very nice 15s). I'm going to have to go back and give that patch another try. These CS synths...

I wonder if people who tried the patches in this book when it first came out complained like we do today... "THE PRESETS ARE BORING, HORRIBLE, NON-MUSICAL, USELESS, ETC. ETC. ETC. WHY DOESN'T YAMAHA HIRE GOOD SOUND PROGRAMMERS?!" :D having tried some of these out now maybe I can answer that!...
