Re: Who's getting?
I'm getting a new synth/keyboard, I don't know what type it is yet, my father picked it out I believe. He is a professional Organist so he knows what to buy. :D hmmm... one can only hope that the "professional organist" tag also includes "professional synthesist"! :? sure it'll be fun regardless......

Beautiful! Nice to have this document. I hope Yamaha appreciated your work! Thanks :) very cool-I've seen the manual, but there are only blank patches in it. Nice to see what Yammie actually had in mind sound-wise when they desinged the CS30... space sounds and locomotives apparently! :D I like tha...

Even if only for the nostalgia, you should check out the original "Synthesizer Patch Charts" book for CS10/30/30L. It's available free from the Yamaha Manual Library at the following link: http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/pdf/emi/english/synth/CS30E2.pdf While made specifically for the CS10, CS30, a...

This is more of what I was looking for. Getting people's different oppinions about the Juno-6. From it's good points, and it bad points. I had the oppertuneity to play one, back in the mid 90's. About the time of the Vintage synth Resurecttion. Of course I did not have the money, nor a job. As I do...

Modern synths can make all the sounds of the synths of the past so all that's changed is tastes in sound design. ALL the sounds?? Instead of nitpicking .. I'll keep it really simple. Why can't a Nord lead sound like my Jen? (it's NOT a tune issue btw) that's a dumb question.. why doesn't your futur...

The Roland Juno-6 is a great synth. Its one of those synths that you can't get an unusable sound from. All of its pure 80's sounds are so effortless to fit in a mix. I have had experience with both the Juno-6 and Juno-60 and yes they do sound identical. The only other major difference between the t...

Here's a CS-10 in action: http://www.madtheory.com/mp3s/Numbers.mp3 And a CS-5 feeding into a CS-10: http://www.madtheory.com/mp3s/Revelation.mp3 sweet! really like that second sample. flute sound is very flute-like... and the envs sound surprisingly punchy... i guess it depends how you hear these ...

My GAS is now directed heavily towards a CS-30.... I don't have the money, but I know I'm getting one soon. I just know I won't be able to resist it. The thought of getting a CS-30 just makes other synths sound boring. Minimoog: njaa Odyssey: hmmm perhaps MS-20: not really CS-30 : A monosynth the s...

Hey Guys. The shipping didn't turn out to be too bad. I paid $60 for the shipping from Japan to LA...the problem is that it will take 4-6 weeks for me to get it. Vintage synths are getting more expensive everyday and harder to come by. I guess that's good news for all of us who have them but it can...

I've always been really tempted by an S1100... if I were to buy a "real" sampler, it would probably only be one of these (or maybe some crazy filter E-MU job)... they seem to be the pinnacle of the S-series in terms of the sound. I always heard there was some built in compression on recording that j...

man, I am sorely tempted by someone selling a practically new mpc500 with mem. card locally for $375... that's the cheapest I've seen one yet... arg. duh, for that cheap pick it up, try it and if you don't like it, sell it on ebay for $500! :D well, I went one further and read the manual!! that pre...

Once the GAS kicks in, you can never have enough synths. It isn't a question of "do I really need another synth", it is a question of "how cool/vintage is that, and can I afford it right now or must I sell my grandmother to science?" i think i just paraphrased something along these lines in another...
