advantages of J-60 Chorus Noise source HPF Sub oscillator advantages of P600 2 VCO with detune Oscillator Sync Poly Mod Excellent Unison function for leads Proper Mod Wheel overall I'd say the P-600 is a much more versatile synth, with a bigger, rawer sound, capable of much weirdness, whilst the J-...

Re: new vs old analogs discussion
I have owned a lot of old analog synths and paid stupid prices just because there weren't anything like it available. VA:s has never been an option because they don't sound right to me. Modern software does sound good but lack the easy interface of a good analog. I leave the old stuff now to people...

the thing that bothers me most about it, is that I have to keep a manual around, because the system settings key commands aren't intuitive. But regular operation of the synth is VERY intuitive. To me, that is the number 1 problem with MFB... they just have the most f**k up commands and button combo...

Re: Which 2 key?
Which 2 key? Do you mean the one for the sequencer? Bank? Combo? Modulator? LFO? Oscillator? Filter 2/4 pole? Delay? Or the 2nd key on the keyboard (from left or right?) ha... um, the actual number 2 key on the number key pad. I think this is only on the PEK, so i dunno how you're sposed to do it w...

I meant the distortion, which is also a kind of waveshaper imho. yeah, that's what I thought. looks like extra noise is just something I'll have to deal with. i imagine (with it already switched on), the noise wouldn't be too audible in a mix. EDIT: but what's frustrating is I can't tell what cause...

Well, this is the impression I get... but what do you mean by the waveshaper (i'm sure this in bleeding obvious, but just to be clear)?DocT wrote:The HP-Filter is noisy, more or less, depending on the ingoing signal and other settings, especially in combination with the waveshaper.
Can't be changed.

Just gotten a response from DSI-the filters are always slightly out of tune apperently, BUT holding the RESET button, and then hitting the "2" key should recalibrate somewhat. EDIT: having just done it, it doesn't affect things a whole lot-the rex on voice 1 is just out of tune enough to make resona...

yeah, it definitely was a "gate" on/off like effect (i know that the high pass is off when set to 0). BUT, switching patches to the "basic" patch and trying it again, it was barely noticeable... herm... the tuned feedback "grunge" may have been on, but why this would be affected by the filter who k...

anyways, re: fees- i had to back out of an auction recently cos I didn't read the item's description well enough and reached for the BIN trigger too fast. anyways, the seller was none too happy, and was basically using the threat of negative feedback to get me to buy it anyways, claiming that he di...

Yeah, if you do not want it you should just explain to the seller that you were not aware how expensive the shipping would be and can't afford it and apologize. Offering a little compensation for his time is up to you, but would be nice. Ebay will refund all of his fees, there is an option for sell...

PEK filter tuning
yeah, so love those analogue filters, but mine are out of tune! It's not horrendous, but definitely noticeable from one voice to the next. Does anyone know of any sort of internal auto-tune procedure, or some way to test all the filters? i assume the only alternative is to open it up and get out the...
