Re: does any synth sound better to your ears than an Omega 8

If you want the ultimate in pure analog tones, get an RCA mkii... Or better yet, a Telharmonium.

You're just going to be disappointed otherwise... :|

160978563536 we need a drooling smiley... i so hope to land one of these someday. :( Synthman about town Shaggie was selling his for just over $2k a few months ago. I don't know if he actually ended up selling it on ebay or not... but it's crazy that no one just bought it outright. This might be th...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!

Looks very interesting, even though I'm not a drummer! Simmons SDS7 with 7 pads for $300: http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-acheter-et-vendre-instruments-de-musique-percussions-DRUM-ELECTONICS-SIMMONS-W0QQAdIdZ457248737 Not really cheap, and not really interesting. Maybe revise your definition of "intere...

Re: Juno-60 vs Juno-106

After years of reading this debate I finally had the chance to compare a 60 at the studio I used last year to my 106 and with as much argument that I've read off and on in the 8 years I've been a member on this board (and the year or two I lurked before that) that there really isn't much of a diffe...

Re: Korg Mini MS-20

Pre order dates are usually bullcrap, and you end up waiting longer for your preorder than people who just go and buy it in the stores when it's finally released. Plus they don't go through months of waiting and agonizing over it. Again, no--I pre-ordered the minibrute almost immediately, and I was...

Just called guitar center to check on an expected ship date and it had moved back to mid may. Dang. Anyone hear if korg pushed things back? Last time I checked it was late feb... Can anyone say, "Minibrute"? Looks like we've got another high-demand item that no one will have in stock for a year, un...

Re: Korg Mini MS-20

Giving ebay a quick look, there's one from the Netherlands, a couple from the USA, and over a half dozen from Japan for sale. That's probably a pretty good indication of where they all ended up. And, yeah, "rare" is a relative term. They are not rare like a Fairlight, but not as common as a Minimoo...

Re: Ensoniq SQ-80 vs Korg DW-8000 ?

SQ-1 is a different beast, its more like half of a VFX. If you really want a poor man's PPG Wave, the VFX/ VFX-SD/SD-1/SQ series has scannable wavetables, the ESQ-1/SQ-80 and DW-8000 do not. (And the Kawai K3 has SEM filters like the PPG) But of course the VFX (and TI?) series all lack resonant ana...

They might have seemed rare in the pre-ebay days, but given there's almost always at least one on ebay at any given moment, they are definitely not rare.

Re: DSI announces Prophet 12!

I'm just really hoping they up the wavetable count. Being able to scan through smoothly them was sorely missed on the PEK, so if they are gonna do that here, I hope they at least give a healthy number of waves to work with (not just 4, or whatever it is stated as now). This of all things should be ...

Re: Minibrute as CV interface for Pro One

Just saw this rather handy looking device.

Would actually be ideal for controlling the minibrute from a DAW.

Re: Minibrute as CV interface for Pro One

Thanks guys! Bear with my ignorance, but this all means I can consider the Pro One to be sort of "MIDI-able" via the Doepfer (and/or MiniBrute)? Say I've recorded some midi tracks, these could be played back on the Pro One from the CV connections out of the DE etc? Yes... But I'd also suggest you d...

Why does it matter what we think? You already own them. Keep the one you like/use more.

Re: Minibrute as CV interface for Pro One

I think your CV controller options are covered already in the pro-1. So I would really just look at the minibrute as a diferent sound source, which it would be within your current setup. But it would be a much better controller than the pro-1 anyway (better wheels/keys).
