Re: I just bought a NL2x. I'm sooooo disappointed...
This is like my experience with the A6 Andromeda. Was always told it was the s**t, and then I spent some time with it and felt like it was an overrated, over compressed VA. I liked some of the sounds I coaxed out of the NL2x but I can barely remember as it was probably 8 years ago that I played one....

Re: so what happens when we cant get curtis chips no more?
That's so funny this got brought up because I was just thinking about it yesterday as a matter of fact... I think the idea of cloning the chip would be amazing. It is similar to when Kevin Lightner decided to clone the voice cards on the Rhodes Chroma. The difference there being that many of those p...

Re: Interested in going Pro Tools soon... need some advice
If you've got a nice room for drums and you're happy with the Presonus pres you might want to try tracking the drums through that to Cubase and then bouncing out the individual tracks to PT for mixdown, if that's how you want to mix. Now that may have been the answer to what I need. I didn't even t...

Interested in going Pro Tools soon... need some advice
I have been using Cubase for about 6 years now, the last 4 with a Firepod as my interface which I like a lot but I know I could do better. I was seriously thinking about going with Pro Tools soon because I have a lot more flexibility if I want to record some tracks at a professional studio, or if I ...

Re: Just got a Oberheim OB8, got some questions!
There are 2 Pc boards inside with 4 voices each on them. They stopped manufacturing the cards seperately after the OB-Xa.
Just disable voices with the page two function until you find the culprit.

Re: Just got a Oberheim OB8, got some questions!
The other problem though is unfortunately voice 2 is dead i guess i need a 3340 cem chip(unless its an adsr chip dead maybe?). Yeah don't assume it's a voice chip because my voice 1 is faulty also and I had a pretty good tech send me a few CEM chips to try and it never made a difference. It will wo...

Re: Korg Poly6: Help me get it in tune!
Keep in mind every time you hit a key it will move to the next voice so if you need to let up on the key you're tuning, you need to hit it 5 more times to get it back on that voice! Just a pain in the neck; I'm sure you probably know that but I'm just saving you the aggravation of finding you are tu...

Looking for specific minimoog parts...
I'm looking for some of those clear plastic caps that go over the contact lever (not sure what it's called) that sits right underneath the pratt-read key (directly behind the bushings). I'm helping someone fix this and it looks like it's missing two and the keys are not making contact with the bus b...

Re: Oberheim OB-X or OB-8??
Once again, I vouch for the OB8 being the way to go. I've never played an OBX but from my reading it sounds like it's more of an SEM machine anyway. Having played an OB-Xa and owning an OB-8 I think they're extremely similar with the raw factor going to the OB-Xa. Both are really similar enough to n...

Re: Which was your first music toy?
Had some plastic chord organ which I wish I knew the name (it was probably a toy but whatever) and a Casio tonebank keyboard. I got the Casio when I was 8 from my neighbor who got it from someone else and never played it and it remained with me until a few years ago.. and the chord organ I'm sure wa...

Re: Noob question: Micro Moog vs. Moog Rogue? ambient sounds?
Without having used the Rogue, but owning an MG-1 and Micromoog, I'd say that the Micromoog has way more modulation capabilities including the wide frequency osc, doubling, sample and hold, heavy-ass filter modulation... I mean it sucks as a lead synth (seriously it does) because 1 oscillator doesn'...

Re: Korg Polysix Tuning Issues.
I'm actually wondering if this is a common problem. The Polysix does tend to be a bit unstable with its tuning; you're doing the procedure right, and I know what you mean when you say each octave drifts in pitch up a little higher. It's a real pain to tune the unit. It only takes you 10 to 15 minute...

I can also vouch for ArcSound. I replaced the bushings in my micromoog and they went on with no trouble at all and feel great when playing.

Re: Alesis A6 owners / buying it in 2009
What do you think causes the screen to change to a different one while you're playing? I am thinking OS glitch (reinstall OS maybe?) Its like you get to a patch and then you're playing and suddenly the screen switches to a different menu.
