. Hi. I saw Duran Duran play the final date on the U.S. leg of the band's Red Carpet Massacre tour. The show was on Saturday night, outside, in Central Park; I stood about 15 feet back on stage left. The new electro set (including a cover of Grace Jones' "Warm Leatherette") was a synth highlight. Jo...

Rupert Greenall of "The Fixx" passes his synths/keyboards through both the carrier and program (mic) input of a vocoder (supposedly the Roland SVC-350 Vocoder) to add depth to the sounds. . At last . . . a specific model of vocoder attributed to Rupert Greenall's signature synth sound! Rupert Green...

Basically an affordable, microKorg or Micron size, battery-operated Electro or Fantom or Motif. Just think of the cool names . . . micro-Electro Micro-Juno Micro-Motif :) .

I already turned it down once yesterday, and was quite proud of myself, but it's still available! agh. Is this a must buy it ...

"rhodes" sounds more like a wurlitzer to my ear, but the playing of the sound is really good; very authentic.

I just bought a Zoom H2 for $258 CDN taxes and extended warrantee in. It can record 4 tracks at once since it has four built in mics. http://www.oreillynet.com/digitalmedia/blog/images/zoom-h2-hand.jpg Here's one link for comparisons but there are others too. http://transom.org/tools/recording_inte...

ROLAND SH-09 . . . . . . based on Analogue Crazy's YouTube demo of its broad sonic capabilities and the fact that Mike Score, singer and synther for A Flock of Seagulls, fools with one in the house of mirrors "I Ran" video, the one which, in 1982, sparked my curiosity in synths into the flame of a...

. I have long wondered why KORG did not include an 8 note -- 1 OSC per voice -- polyphony option on the mK. Since a LAYER patch reduces the mK's polyphony from 4 to 2, why not add a one-Osc-per-voice patch option raising it from 4 to 8? :? p.s. You can hear and see my live use of the mK's vocoder du...

Why would roland ever make real analog gear again when they can make VA's that most people can't tell the difference between? VA's are synths just like any others, I don't get why it would be bad for them to just keep improving on VA technology instead. Its about how you use the synth anyway. I've ...
