If you go to rush.com and visit the Multimedia section "Rush on the Road" -- click on the the San Juan Rehearsal slide show -- there is a great close-up pic of Geddy Lee's Little Phatty SE with 02 TOMSAWYER PRESET ACTIVE visible in the program window.

. I use my microKorg . . . 1) for filtering beats from my ZOOM MRT-3B, 2) as an arpeggiator for step sequencing and latched high string drones, 3) for the vocoder + formant for complex pad textures, 4) for DWGS digital bells and whistles, 4) for phat monosynth lead lines. very versatile synth . . . ...

I've used the EA-1 (with a capo holding the filter open) live for an entire noise-guitar set. It was great. I've been getting really into the way my MG-1's works lately though. With a really loud input sound it sound quite over-driven awesome. I've been using the drums from a hing hon EK-001* as a ...

Re: Roland Juno-D...what do you think?

I've been down to GC recently to check out synths. The sales guy was trying to sell me on and Roland SH-201 but I think it feels cheap and is not worth the $$$ they want. Sounds aren't all that great either. I was more impressed with the Juno-D. Has good sounds and is solid, not plastic like the SH...

Re: Korg M1

I just scored a Korg M1 + flightcase and card for £65. I think i got a pretty sweet deal there. I sould get it this weekend with a bit of luck. I have been using the W-30 as my workstation for a year now and have decided to start using something which does not live on floppies. I have gone for the ...

. Loverboy -- the epitome of high school cool -- and "Working for the Weekend" , "Turn Me Loose" , "Take Me to the Top" . . . these are all great, well-constructed, rock pop songs. The band had a great run until MTv killed them off by pushing the forgettable "Queen of the Broken Hearts" -- the song ...

Re: Scored a Korg MicroX

Picked up the white version from GC the other day for $299. Really impressive sound set and the librarian/editor seems to work on the Macbook Pro- intel mac (SOS's review from '06 stated that it didn't). I've been craving a ROMpler for a while now and this should fit the bill nicely. The drum kits ...

Re: Wavestation Users

I am really getting into my Wavestation EX and was just wondering...What songs has Wavestation seen use on. I know genesis used one on 'No Son Of Mine' but what other recordings feature the Wavestation? Im totally in love with this synth. It may lack a resonant filter but the sound is just so HUGE....

Oh, and I hear you about the weight of the Z1. I bought mine off a guy who was about an hour away on transit... the trip home felt like 3 hours lugging that thing. However, I would far rather have them make synths like that still as opposed to the rice cakes they make today. . rice cakes! . ....

Hi to all It's my first post, i found this forum very useful with pro members in synth. I'm new in music world, and i just play piano for about one month, i want to study piano and synth simultaneously. i don't like trance style so the Roland SH201 isn't good for me as my first synth. i don't want ...

I think Korg Radias has a chance. It looks cool, well, at least very different and 00s, and has a distinct sound and feature set. It's under appreciated today, and would guess didn't sell that well. And it meets the most important criteria of a classic-to-be: it's somehow a bit dorky. :D . Duran Du...

Electribes (most of the people i know who buy microkorgs buy one of these to go with it, that alone will give them some status) . That describes my story to an E . . . lectribe. The Electribe series was at first a curiosity to me, and even though there was an EMX-1 in the studio that brought me in ...
