Do you consider the Seinfeld theme dark/industrial? Cause that's what the M1 sound like.

Re: Yamaha Reface
Surely Stab Frenzy is joking here ??? I'm a bit confuse with his logic - he's saying Yamaha created a fake picture in case it leaked - and they've provided him with a prototype he's happy to confirm exists on a public forum, even though Yamaha would have asked for it to be kept under wraps ? That c...

Virus is a good choice, but you could basically use anything. It's not about the synth you use, it's about how you use it.

Re: Yamaha Reface
It's fake! The control surface is literally the VL1, cut and pasted onto that fake Reface ( I own VL1 and VL7). The screen and buttons are all wrong at this scale - but in any case - they are literally a reduced cut-and-paste job! No it's real, they designed it to look like a cut and paste job just...

Re: Yamaha Reface
I have it on good authority that it's real, they just wrote fake on the picture to throw people off in case it leaked early, which it has.

Re: Quick question about Microbrute
The Strymon BigSky and Eventide Space are 2 great pedals for ambient sounds. Those are some great recommendations thanks:) I'm loving the Eventide Space. Can't afford these at the moment unfortunately. Have you tried them both? the carbon copy's dry/wet mix barely has any effect with this synth com...

Re: Were analog computers the real ancestors of synthesizers
I think drawing a line between analogue computers and synths is a bit simplistic, there is a lot of crossover between the two. For example, an analogue integrator was one of the basic elements of analogue computers, but we synthesists know that circuit as a low pass filter or a slew limiter (same th...

Re: single-cycle samples of 80s digi waveform synths
It's fun to load them all up in the Octatrack and then use it as a synth/scan through them.

Re: single-cycle samples of 80s digi waveform synths
All the Prophet VS waveforms were up somewhere a while ago, maybe on the DSI site? I'll see if I can find them… edit: I can't remember where I found them, but I found them on my HD, here they are: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ja0tc8wn6cnudzj/AACYqe2mjrWU2CeXIttm6MhOa?dl=0 I might not keep them up ther...

Re: Envelopes: no sustain but long release ?
In the first example when you: Press the key and hold it, the tone will be short Press the key and let go, the tone will be long I used to utilise this trick when I had a CS-15, set the two envelopes so that one had a short decay, no sustain and a long release and the other the opposite, and then s...

Re: Utterly boring question about shipping a sexy Prophet 6.
Still, how do German customs know what's taxable and what's not? Say I brought a PolySix back instead of a Prophet... How do they sort such out? That's what their job is. That said, unless you're bringing it with you in the original box the chances are that you won't have to pay anything on it. But...
