Re: Triangle core VCOs
The oscar's oscs were a strange design, I would say not completely digital since they were based on 4046 phase locked loop ICs. Thomas Henry's x-4046 vco is triangle core. I would be quite surprised if the OSCar had tri cores, a saw is much more useful for scanning a wave table than a triangle. Edi...

Re: Effects processor for Nord Lead
I think a Zoom MS50G or MS70CDR might be perfect for you. Cheap, small, configurable multi-fx, good sound for the price :thumbright: Regarding "compatibility": levels are no big deal, just turn down the synth. You might have to amplify it again afterwards though. However, you might get into impedan...

Re: Buchla LEM systems?
I've got quite a few more than 19 voltage inputs in my system.

Re: Buchla LEM systems?
There was some legal shenanigans going on between Don and the new owners of Buchla which I'm not sure if it has been resolved yet, this could be delaying the new systems getting into people's hands. I've gotta say that Easel K looks mighty tasty, I hadn't seen that before.

Re: PROPHET 6 VERSUS NORD WAVE VERSUS NORD LEAD 3
Sell the P08 and the NL 2X and buy the Wave and the P6. Should fit in your budget and you'll have much better sounds. The Matrix 1000 and the P08 cover a lot of the same ground anyway so you won't miss much by losing the P08.

RME Fireface UFX/UCX depending on how many inputs and outputs you need.

Re: Yamaha Reface
Another way to avoid the "sound design" distraction is to make sounds in your downtime and throw them in a sampler. You still have the ability to modify if needed, but the essential palette is there. Good suggestion, although I sort of do it the other way around. I sometimes record the basic chord ...

Launchpad Pro open source firmware
Anybody else seen this? Looks pretty great. This is pushing me more towards the LPP over the Push.

Re: Nord Lead 2X
No. If you want a proper synth with those sounds as well have a look at the Nord Wave, (not 100% sure it does, but have a look) otherwise if you want pianos and organs with a decent synth attached then look at the Stage.

You're right of course, which is why your mighty synthesizer company is the biggest in the world and Yamaha are but a lowly grub at your feet, wishing they could design as well as you.commodorejohn wrote:Then that's a design flaw.

Re: Instrument to Line Level Converter for Synths
hmm, it's likely that I'm making some simple mistake. When I use the 2 instrument inputs my levels are where I expect them to be but when I use the line inputs they are very quiet. Could it be because the type of cable (balanced or unbalanced) ? Are the master volumes of your synths all the way up?...

Re: Yamaha Reface
So don't lose the cable. :dontknow: It's a little known fact that even synths with regular midi ports won't work if you lose the cable and don't have anything plugged into them. Would you prefer that they didn't have midi at all? Or do you just like complaining? I'd prefer that they provide normal ...

Synths are already at line level, you don't need anything.
