So it's more like a mod matrix now then. What I like about the P5 polymod is that there is no menu diving, you just turn the knobs and immediately get the results. It's not a menu, you press a button to choose which of the 4 mod slots you're using, then there are 3 knobs for source, amount and dest...

http://emusician.com/elecinstruments/emusic_oxford_synthesizer_company/ DCO provides Tringle, sawtooth and three vtypes of variable pulse width. How the additive waveforms are generated are probably seperate. As I said before, I believe they're made using the same oscs as the additive waveforms, and...

I use the FX on my V-Synth a fair bit, I quite like tham and they're good for playing live, which I do a lot, cause you can save different FX for different patches, so each song can sound as different as you want. You just can't do that if you're sending a dry signal to the desk and relying on the e...

Guitars are also devices. They operate on acoustical properties. Therefore, the best way to learn to play guitar is to study the developement of guitars from the dawn of history, and study the construction and mathematical acoustics of the guitar's sound... ..right? Terrible analogy. RobotHeroes di...

Here's a couple of resources that are written with a particular synth in mind but are really handy for any synth: http://www.carbon111.com/evolverguide.pdf http://www.access-music.de/downloads.php4?product=virusc#cat4 (scroll to virus programming tutorial in english) Best thing is both are free. edi...

The only thing with a desktop mono prophet would be there isn't really much fat to trim off the Desktop Evo to bring the price down. You would probably keep the 8 knobs but could lose some of the buttons on the left, but then you'd need to retool to make another case and a different board for the di...

The additive waveforms are definately not analogue, and I believe the standard saw, pulse, etc waveforms are made using the same oscs, which would mean they're digital too. I suppose it's technically correct that they're digitally controlled, but not DCOs in the sense that we use the term now, as in...

You're forgetting that when you buy something new from a shop it costs more than something on the second hand market. Second hand prices are all about supply and demand, if you don't think the going rate is fair, don't buy/don't sell. Anyway, what I think people should take from this is that ...

I'm pretty sure the OSCar and Wasp both have digital oscillators, not DCOs. A lot of the information on this site is questionable or just plain wrong, don't take it as gospel.

Based on the Evolver series, anyone care to speculate on how long it might be until a desktop version of the 08 appears (if ever)? Thanks Well based on the evolver series a desktop version of the P8 should have been out around 2 years ago. :) They went desktop -> PER -> PEK -> MEK DSI have released...

One thing to be aware of taking this approach is that if you've got LFOs in your patch they may or may not be in phase with each other as you go from voice to voice. If it's important to you that all your LFOs are in sync then you'll have to figure out a way to do that, which depending on your synth...

A6 for $5400 ???? Are you joking ??? You'll find new ones for less than half ! It's nosense... Going by his flag, I'd assume he means $5400 Australian, which is pretty much the going rate down here. They can be had cheaper... http://www.awave.com.au/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=161&products_id...

I will definately will be getting a Juno 106 and a TR 909. Don't get the 106, get the 6 or the 60. The 106 has problems where the voice chips die which are a pain to fix, they also don't sound as nice as the 6 or 60. All the mega awesome artists use racks and synths at their live performances. Lapt...
