Re: Synths used on...?
Yeah, CS80 is listed in the credits. Eddie Jobson was a big CS80 user, and supposedly had the first one in England. There's live footage of Tim Cross playing one with Mike Oldfield circa 1980, and a lot of the synth on Oldfield's QE2 was most likely CS80, as album producer David Hentschel seems to h...

Yeah, I forgot that some of the newer cars have "mp3 cability" in the form of a jack.

Re: Creating these synth sounds
If the Juno has some sort of tap tempo function you can try using that to sync with the drummer. In any case trying to sync sequences and arpeggios with a band is a real bother unless you go the complicate route, which is to have the drummer play to some kind of click track controlled by the instrum...

Re: Looking for a small, fun, battery powered synth
Battery power and speakers could be filled by any of the zillion Casio and other brand "tablehooters" still floating around. In a way driving in the car it probably doesn't really matter whether there's speakers or not, because you'd probably want to do something like run it through one of those FM ...

Here is Casio's countdown page: http://www.casiomusicgear.com/ A couple of MS20 on stage??? :D WTF they just trying to say with that? Most likely nothing. It's probably a generic stock picture. It's funny to see stock pictures turn up in multiple places, like a photo of an Asian couple I've seen us...

Funny to think of that organ being used in a church.

The use of the term "mobile phone" makes me suspicious in a Montral ad. Should be cell phone coming from anyone who learned English in North America.

Re: Beggining into synths
Instead of a cheap guitar amp you might want to consider a cheap bass amp. They're less likely to do nasty things if you run a low sound through them like a synth bass sound.

Moog IIIc on Toronto Craigslist. BUT...
Came across this on another forum. http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/msg/2754701018.html However I have my suspicions it's BS given that Albert Einstein died in '55. The guy in the picture of the supposed IIIc looks familiar. Anyone recognise him?

Re: Why is the 303 the de-facto Acid synth?
And it was all because the '303 was cheap. No one wanted them, so the early techno guys, having tiny budgets, bought them.
The '303 was heard on record fairly soon after its debut, Greg Hawkes using one on his 1983 solo album NIagra Falls.

Re: Cheap alternatives to VOX or FARFISA?
Original Blue Rodeo keyboardist Bobby Wiseman used a Top 5 with the group. As I remember it he bought it because it was the cheapest thing he could find at the time.

Re: Cheap alternatives to VOX or FARFISA?
Thinking about it I would imagine even the more obscure combo organs like the Ace Tones and Italian brands like Gem likely aren't cheap anymore either.
Since no one posted it, here's lots of info on the genre. http://www.combo-organ.com/
