Re: Cheap alternatives to VOX or FARFISA?

You do have a DX7, and organs are one of the things they do well. I'm sure there must be more than a few combo organ programs floating around online.

Re: What's that synth

It would be kind of an odd instrument to turn up as a prop on a TV show, so it probably was his.

Re: Idea for product (Stringer Module)

The obvious question is whether anyone makes all the needed parts, and how much they cost. I think you'd need to know that before even considereing whether there's enough of a market to make production worthwhile.

Could be a DX7, or for that matter it might be something from a Fairlight CMI, which they used in the studio in that era.

Re: Wersi Synthesisers

Wersi apparently had some sort of a distributor in the US in the late '80s and early '90s, as Keyboard ran the occasional Wersi ad in those days. But I never saw any indications they had much if any of a dealer network stateside.

Never heard of a Tokai keyboard before. The brand name is fairly well known amongst guitar players and bassists.

Re: more Korg analog - Monotron Duo & Monotron Delay

Korg should consider offering their Mono line in packs. Say a Monotron and Monotribe, or a Monotribe Duo and Monotribe Delay, together at a discounted price. For that matter they could do combo packs with other stuff from their mini instrument line, like say a Mini Kaoss Pad and a Monotron.

Re: Electribe Quandry ?!

Given that the SD version of the EMX1 was just released last year it's not likely to be replaced soon. Besides, you can drive yourself crazy waiting for the next thing, because there's always going to be a next thing. Don't forget that the low end MPCs, the '500 and '1000, are strictly sampling and ...

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

8 bucks isn't outrageous for that when people cut ads out of mass market magazines and try to sell them for 10 bucks. Especially when you might be able to find the entire magazine at a local used book store for a couple of bucks.
