As far as the GR700 goes Adrian Belew used one on his stuff in the second half of the '80s, such as Desire Develops a Tail. It might be a temperature thing. The early analog stuff drifted due to heating.

The Who in general in the '70s and early '80s had trouble incorporating the synth sounds off their records into live work. They used tape of the "Won't Get Fooled Again" synth parts, and regularly had the tapes fail in one way or another.

Young was Tony Kaye's keyboard tech on Yes's 90125 tour, and apparently played the occasional part while hidden in a keyboard pit under the stage.

Winwood does some amazing "fretless bass" playing on "Night Train," which I assume is the Multi. Very convincing.
