It's not quite as good as the Source... but sure as h**l replaces the Prodigy and Rogue.

Some prefer it to the Voyager .. I can see that.
Why do you say its not as good as a source?

Re: I tried the Moog LP today

I went to GC in Albany and they had one there, so I went to town on those knobs. I had never played a Moog synthesizer before either, so this was a first for me. I wouldn't call the Moog sound absolutely mind blowing, but definitely superior to any other analog I've ever played. It's how analog is ...

Haha, well thank you. Do you find it hard to keep it tasteful with a poly? I always come out with epic 80s sounding stuff, or piano sounding stuff I dunno...i agree with you to a certain extent...which is why i tend to avoid synth brass...however, i am huge sucker for strings and pad washes, which ...

I agree with the original poster, I've tried to love polyphonic synths but I can only get useful sounds out of monosynth It's a personal thing I imagine, because I like that more spacious sound of a few tracks of monosynths plonking along, it can often become very epic with poly synths I also reall...

for me, the MS2000 sounds better (crisper, grittier which I like) than the Nord Lead 3, which I also have and can't really get into... I also use the MS2000 live on the road because I won't cry if it get's lost/stolen/broken.. I also beat the tar out it live often so mine's kind of destroyed yet st...

I just feel like Moog has run out of ideas and innovation after this release. Seems very desperate....more of the same. You are incorrect, Sir. Yea, seriously. So Moog comes out with something that was requested by their customers and now all the sudden they are "out of ideas." Moog is never going ...

I've played or owned nearly every VA out there, and the MS2000, to me, sounded the most like an analog mono synth. It also behaved the most like one. So no, in short, i dont personally agree with your statement that it sounds like a sample based rompler. How can you sound like a mono synth? I found...

Neon if you are looking for a Moog that sounds great I'm sure the LP won't disappoint because those are by far its best assets. It's certainly not a ground-breaking synth and isn't really that flexbile...although you would be surprised. As long as you are expecting all this I don't see how it could...

Plus LP has something most other Moogs dont, the filter overdrive that's a real ball-knocker :D and if U hook in a MoogerFoog CP251 control processor LP becomes a modular with a distinctive character all its own. ummmm tasty  Some folks recoil at the price, but check NovaMusik for they have fr...

The little phatty only has 4 knobs... You can only turn one at a time if you are playing with your other hand. Two if you have a sequencer. 1. When someone has access to a "initial gain" or the like, at a moments notice, even in the midst of a melodic solo, they can suddenly have TWO hands free, an...

I like how all people do is complain about how theres no new analog synths, then someone makes one, and then its a Moog copy. That's like saying any new oil painting is "just another Caravaggio"...

I can't wait until someone lands a Leipzig (thomas dolby anyone?) and tells all.

Most of the MK's presets are tacky. The real power in the MK is unlocked when you program your own sounds. That said, I think I've overwritten at least half of the presets in mine so far. But then people have been using presets ever since the Prophet 5 came out. Synth programmers are a somewhat rar...
