the ASX board for CME controllers is perhaps the most interesting Creamware product of the moment. It's kind of like a mini Noah, featuring Minimax, B4000, Lightwave and Vocodizer http://www.cme-pro.com/products-list/product-asx.html any further news about this? for people who already own the contr...

I believe it's going to be a nice 55 bucks purchase, I own a Microverb 4 and always like Alesis fx such the Q2 powered in my S4 plus. While it's not the best around, but should be a nice budget reverb with a good user interface and other fx. I like the delay a lot in my Microverb 4 and as I remember...
I always like E-mu's sound for hip-hop..even those in my Morpheus. so if you are doing that, it's more than worth to get. Also, early e-mu gears are built to last, it should be a fine purchase. but if you really need a pc, actually those sounds are available in a soundfont format. it may not be as p...

the K is just the keyboard version of the A which is supposed to have the same engine inside. some people like the vocoder, but pity that the great looking x-stn didn't have that and even can't process external sounds through the filter, so the A is even still looks tempting to me too. I like Novati...

Re: have synth - will travel
what it must have is keys...something to trigger sound. i would really like something that i can program outside the PC if you like to "program" it, I believe some nice user interface is needed. so, I agree with above suggestion to go with the X-station. with that, you can leave the O2 at home and ...

some commercial software sometime involving more resources such as founders (Arturia and Bob Moog, etc) and legendary artists, so for certain popular synth emulation, could be more accurate than the freebies. Also they have much more R & D potential, so oftenly sounds better. But with that said, I l...

Since I first posted, I have a little more success. I can see a signal when I record MIDI tracks onto Sonar and I can hear the metronome while I record but I cannot hear any music. There MIDI notes being recorded but I don't know how to hear them. USB to midi cable, usually consist of Midi in, midi...

Re: Mixers As Effects (Yamaha DMP7 + a cheap analog?)
I'd save a bit and opt for the ProMix 01 instead of buying 2 mixers mentioned. it have enough processors (dynamic, eq and fx) to support your experimentation..and supposed to be a much better pre amp too, compared to the DMP7 or ergh, yer computer (yes, mostly any dedicated pre amp will sounds bette...

Re: My hypothetical acid setup
What do you think? Will it be enough? Will it be missing something. it's 3-4 drum machines, and 2-3 sequencer synths, plus effects. it's a nice set up actually, but a really nice mono with audio input will make it a more complete set-up. Do you think I'll have to buy a midi hub? I'm pretty excited ...
