Re: Patchblocks: Create Your Own Programmable Modular Synth
I'm only saying it's s**t because it sounds like s**t and the specs listed would seem to sufficiently explain that. If it didn't sound shitty I wouldn't be bagging on it for sounding shitty. (I also wouldn't be bagging on it for sounding shitty if it were priced at less than ~$45 per unit. But come...

Re: Patchblocks: Create Your Own Programmable Modular Synth
But even just the third harmonic of that is ~12KHz Well, no f**k s**t. I'm sure in those demos they're all playing notes in the 8th octave. 90% of what someone would play resides in the first four octaves, but clearly that's lost on you. You're absolutely determined to say it's s**t, and I understa...

Re: Patchblocks: Create Your Own Programmable Modular Synth
ut the sample rate here means that any such noise is going to be well within the audible range, and it doesn't sound like they're taking any particular pains to remove it. the highest note on a piano, IIRC is C8; which loosely corresponds to 4kHz. Far below the Nyquist Frequency. Most normal people...

Re: Patchblocks: Create Your Own Programmable Modular Synth
so I don't see why you wouldn't just use a softsynth at that point. Because once you program the synth, it's 'ready to go'; you take that on stage, and there's no need for the laptop. See also Nord Modular (something I bloody wish they still proper supported)... thanks to the ultra-minimal design, ...

Re: MP3 file problem.
The problem may likely be that the mp3 files you're trying to load are corrupted; try copying one or two of those files off the USB stick back onto your machine and see if any given media player will play them. As stated before, it could also be a bit rate/depth thing, but most commercial mp3 device...

Re: Patchblocks: Create Your Own Programmable Modular Synth
Even if the individual blocks can have more than one function (which does seem to be the case,) they're still limited to a paltry number of controls (and the more functions per block, the less control you're going to have over them,) Agreed, but the LittleBits are static synth blocks; predefined, u...

Re: Money Mark's Minimoog Trick
I like to consider myself fairly open minded when it comes to music, and I like some pretty eccentric stuff music wise. Maybe the Money Mark 'jam' scene had some merits that I am simply too simple minded to understand...but I think that scene makes the documentary largely inaccessible to most peopl...

Re: A forum for cloning vintage synths?
While I've noticed that there are a few DIY synth clones around, like the http://www.ladyada.net/make/x0xb0x/ and http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2013/07/14/two-thousand-six-hundred-arp-2600-clone-sneak-preview/ , there still could be a lot more out there. I'm wondering what vintage synth enthusi...

Re: Money Mark's Minimoog Trick
Greetings fellow earthlings, (This topic may already have been visited.) For those of you who have seen the Moog documentary from nine years ago, can any of you tell me which input on the back panel of the Minimoog D Money Mark plugged the microphone into to get that crazy pitch trigger effect? Can...

Re: Money Mark's Minimoog Trick
video aside and cup of tea or not, the hating here is absurd. next time someone starts up a thread about vangelis, emmerson, wakeman, etc. people should return the favor. I don't think you've understood the issue here. It isn't about `hating'. I don't think any of us hate Money Mark. Personally I d...
