Re: Ableton Push (for Live 9)

I watched the intro/demo/whatever the other day (linked back from Matrixsynth) and I was quite impressed. I think the one thing that I keyed on immediately was the ability to midify even the simplest (and perhaps more complex) melodies. Add the push interface, and I can envision so many ways to make...

Re: The obsession for the Analog

That book and a comfy chair sounds like a good idea, most definitely analogue! http://s3.amazonaws.com/files.posterous.com/temp-2011-06-08/myFrgwiscrwEueJeErmgjAkrGbbyvchmrdxjiqJjtuhurkFroBxphhaIAito/dis-missed.JPG.scaled1000.jpg?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAJFZAE65UYRT34AOQ&Expires=1350868520&Signature=FYIW...

Would I be way far off-base to think this might be the Mk. III monomachine?

...turns out I'm not really that good at speculation. :?

Re: The obsession for the Analog

pitiful hairsplitting Quoted using Wikipedia: "The term "analogue" describes the proportional relationship between a signal and a voltage or current that represents the signal." That being said, poor choice of words to coin your own meaning to; come on - what do you expect in a board full of f**k s...

Re: Nice cheap preamp for laptop recording?

IIRC, the Macbooks of late use the standard Intel HD Chipset found on quite a wide range of laptops. Depending on your exact model, I think it uses the Cirrus Logic Chipset. Either way, it should work for your purposes. Regardless, if you're getting feedback in terms of audible squeal you will want ...

Re: Which Korg?

If you're thinking MicroKorg, why not go all out and get the MS2000? More hands on, same synth engine, same vocoder, external inputs, heaps more hands-on control (not to mention a reasonable sized keyboard). :)

Re: Taking A Loss

Especially with smaller modular manufacturers, I try to buy the stuff new when I can afford it. Doing so allows the scene to continue on in some small fashion. Synths, samplers and the like, I have found to have a much smaller overall audience than say guitars or other traditional instruments. We're...

Re: Power Of Love - Huey Lewis & The News - Make/Model/Sound

I'm gonna make a wild guess and say Matrix 12, based on what little I know about the studio it was recorded in and the hardware they had about. I do recall one of the factory Matrix 12 patches having a very similar sound... I'll have to fire mine up later and see if I'm even remotely close. I know t...

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

for what you'd pay from wine country it's really not "that bad" imho. say you bought one rough ($200), then paid the $500+ to have it in that state, well then this is only overpriced by $2-300. ha - and it seems someone agrees with me since it just sold. If it did sell (I couldn't gauge if it reall...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!

Interesting only for the sake of Hannah Montana's stalker gaze; and I use the term 'interesting' in this case rather loosely.

And then:

Reasonable starting price for one of these:

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

An SP-12 Turbo just sold for $850.- here locally that I know of. SP-1200's go for ridiculous money. I would love one but can't see dishing out 2k for one. Drumulators... I think $200.- is wishful thinking, even though I personally wouldn't shell out the cash for it -- doesn't mean someone else would...
