Re: Which Curtis poly to complement MKS-80?

I'm sort of surprised that you haven't considered the Xpander or Matrix-12... multimode filters, actually CRAZY filtering possibilities, huge modulation possibilities...

Downside; it's the size of a small country. :)

I'm working on compiling a list of every known service center or parts vendor for posting here... while that's 'in progress' I'll add a person who works on Viscount Sysetms (to include the OB-12) and others... Norm Ninneman Viscount Tech Service 2560 Cedar Falls Rd. Menomonie, WI 54751 715-231-4096 ...

Re: Collecting, eBay and Synth Economics

The main beef I have with EBay is that now every schmuck with Internet access now knows what their synth is worth, making bargains harder to come by. ... Yet a reasonable majority still believe that their bit of kit is both rare and in the best condition you, the intrepid consumer - will ever hope ...

Re: Arturia to give away MinimoogV...

I received the e-mail too. Will an Arturia dongle be required? Because I sold my copy of Prophet V and my dongle a few weeks ago! I doubt that it would require a dongle if it's a free product, but I suppose it's possible. I would almost think (speculation at this point) that all you'd need is an ac...

The Minimoog V Original is a commemorative edition of the Minimoog V which includes all the sounds and features from the latest Minimoog-V update, but without the additional fu...

Re: Collecting, eBay and Synth Economics

I don't consider myself a collector by any stretch of the imagination, because one - regardless of whether I'm actually composing something, I will use every last piece of gear I own. Sometimes because of the interface, sometimes because of a certain emotional attachment to the sound or to the creat...

Re: synthcats?

I have a similar problem with squirrels on my bird feeders, but I've found that some No. 5 shot from the 870 fixes things in a quick fashion.   Close the door to your studio. If that is impossible, shock collar. </I kid!!!, I kid!!!> For those of you who take offence to my shock col...

Re: Gear Trading Thread

So... I have a lovely specimen of an ARP Odyssey (black/orange rev.3), that I would like to trade for a rev.1 or perhaps rev.2. Story goes, I have two rev.3 units, would like to mix it up a bit and have an earlier rev as well. The one I'll swap is in brilliant shape, physically and operationally. Yo...

Re: What's your favorite amp simulator (hardware)

Adrenalinn 3 is a very nice piece of inexpensive kit that does alot pretty well. I also dig NI Guitar Rig for a computer-based amp/effect sim. You can run various things through either and get good results. (Vox, Synths, Drums, small creatures)
