Re: Little synths and noise toys like BC8, monotribe.
Infernal Noise Machine ( I own one, it's loads of fun) ANYTHING from Folktek (fantastic, but sort of on the expensive side for some pieces) If you can talk Trent Reznor out of his Oddulator... Chimera bC9 Shruthi-1 (the digital filter and fx variety specifically for more noisy material) Meeblip Dewa...

Pretty sure that was a custom job, not something they sell to the masses...kerpan wrote:Looks like a rack unit. Is it a custom job, or something found through Doepfer?

Re: which budget analog mono?
I'm leaning towards a PAiA Fatman, or I'll save up for a Doepfer Dark Energy. Both seem a little cramped and limited I have two Dark Energy units chained together; One DE machine is small in stature, but by far doesn't disappoint in terms of limited sound (although it is somewhat cramped). It's got...

330599377501 I just got a kick that the extra $400 over going rate is for "hott, hottt" synth sounds which are "too much and too many to name". Well you might at least try.... then I could find out what the $400 is going for other than a pack job that says "fragile, glass" on the outside. Hey man, ...

Re: Gear Trading Thread
Updated for correctness... TRADES, Beeeeches! :D My trade thoughts are fairly broad; something interesting, something of equal value (or cash supporting imbalances therein), and in nice physical and operational shape. All the following gear for trade is located in Maryland, USA. I'd like to keep tra...

Symbolic Sound Paca(rana)
For some time I've been rather intrigued by the Kyma platform for sound design... Problem is, it's wicked expensive and I have nothing as far as honest input on one (or the capybara for that matter). If anyone here has had an opportunity to work with one for a reasonable length of time, I would be i...

Re: Very small synth module?
http://www.vintagesynth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=63565&view=unread#p636339 I stand by my thought about the Shruthi-1. Blofeld, Sh-32, Nova, etc... all way too large to fit into the case he's described. (well, maybe the blofeld..) Since the Shruthi-1 is rather small, operable on 300mA of 9VDC po...

Re: Fractal Waveform?
Not sure if this is the place, or if anyone cares, but this is a weird idea I had. For those who don't know, a fractal is essentially a geometric figure that contains recursive, scaled versions of the same figure to infinity. In a waveform, this could be a triangle wave that's wavelength decreases ...

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.
As much as I want to believe this is a real bargain and not a scam: 280720565034 330598177930 Donna-Marie's Collectables appears to either have been hacked and hijacked, or she's really a horrible seller. But since the rest of her auctions include general descriptions and at least proper selling tec...

Re: Recommendations for First Synth
I know you said no MIDI I think you misinterpreted the intent... Would prefer to do work on the synth itself, not in a software program. Something that I can get a few years out of would be nice. Preference for more keys (e.g., 61) rather than fewer (e.g., 37), as I don't want to be fiddling around...
