The Linndrum user groups has some good info there, actually. Very useful place.

You should be able to run the synth through the Lex and then into your amp etc. Just make sure you pay attention to the Nord's output routings so you don't lose sounds into empty space.

I've had no luck with audio triggers in the past - IIRC the Juno expects a 20ms pulse of 5V or more, but I'd have to check the files... I've used a DR-55, TR-606, Kenton Pro Solo/Pro DCB, and home-made bits... All you need is a positive voltage pulse. Maybe my audio wasn't hot enough.

If you have access to filtering, try running the kick through a resonant high-pass filter with low cut-off and lifting the resonance a little to give some bottom-end welly. Same trick can be used on other percussion sounds, and I find that filters give something straightforward EQ doesn't, depending...

You could try getting hold of a cheap used analogue delay off ebay or somewhere. Some obscure pedal delays or cheap 70s/80s units can be found for just a few pounds, and will impart a certain character to the Nord that it lacks itself. Try also a chorus unit, preferably a stereo model. I run my 2x t...

It shouldn't be too difficult or expensive to put one together. I do DIY synth stuff and could probably make one for you to your spec. PM me if you're interested. 8)

The 202 is a bit easier than the (TB) 303, I think - though the buttons are not exactly wonderful and I find myself with a few extra notes here and there... at least you can program the pitches from an external keyboard. I love the example sequences in the manuals for stuff like this as well - alway...

It does sounds tedious to tune it up on every power up. You don'thave to tune it every time, just tell it which settings to use (gate type, channel, trigger type..) Does 2 channels means that I can use one channel for CV/Gate and another channler for filter cutoff modulation? There are 2 fully inde...

Yes, it's compatible, and the unit is useful enough if you can find one for cheap. But it is a little awkward to set up compared to modern units like the Kenton ones. They offer 2 channels of CV/gate/trig, with different gate types, but will only produce v/oct CV, not Hz/v (so no korg or yamaha user...

My PC is connected to an M-AUDIO USB interface (MIDI SPORT 2X2). Ouch. I used to use one of these and had plenty of problems with it (running on a PC with XP and the updated drivers). My advice is to use it as a doorstop or something to throw at the kids in the street who hang around outside your w...

You could just do whatever you feel like, and if you come off worse, well, never mind. Life's got room for one more regret. If you win, you win. Well done. The best advice is to buy something, try it for a while, and sell it if you don't llike it. If you have a piece of gear you don't want to risk l...

Maybe your MIDI interface is causing it. You don't say how you get from the PC to the outside world. Also, double check your settings in Cubase. Try turning off all unwanted MIDI transmission. Also check your drivers. Just a couple of thoughts - I also use a J-60 and Kenton interface, and never had ...

Combining a drumbox with a module could work too. Something like the ER-1, which is a doddle to use, with a more comprehensive small rack unit. Use the box to sequence the rack. Piece of cake. Even a cheapy TR-505 can be used as a sequencer.
