Interesting. If I don't use mine for a few days, when I turn it on it looks OK, but the last programmed rhythm will fill up with rubbish at the end. Then when I try to erase it, the machine shows random display bars and clicks at me a few time before refusing to play anything. After that, I turn it ...

Them's memory backup batteries. If you don't have them, your Linn will not keep any patterns on shutdown. I'm curious what you mean by 30 mins warm-up time... what does it do if you don't give it that? I ask because mine's a bit glitchy at first, and likes to be switched off & on again before it'll ...

There were 2 versions of the MS-20, the first using custom ICs, and the second using LM13600 OTAs. The first version filters are quite different in structure to the second. I've not compared the sound though, not being so lucky... :D Also, no filter with more than 1 pole will be frequency-controllab...

Actually, the Juno (6 and presumably 60 too, which is what I think we're talking about) creates its PWM wave by feeding the sawtooth into one input of a comparator, and a multiplexed CV (from the PW mod section) into the other. It's an MC14051 analogue multiplexer.

Nice one AC. I've no doubt it'll add a very different colour - I have an old RS101 that needs some attention but sounds much thicker, darker and wetter than the Juno strings/pads, though as you know the Juno 60 with stereo chorus sounds great. And you'll have more poly with this too... If only someo...

All of the above. I've been accumulating gear for years but have only started selling things this summer. I've run out of room, and need the money from sales to put to other things - my taste is not getting cheaper. Another reason for selling is to upgrade. I sold my CS01 because it wasn't flexible ...

I've just picked up an ER-1 and first impressions are that it is super-easy to use in every aspect of its functionality. As for the sounds, well, I like the fact they can be modded on the fly simply and without menu-diving, and I like that the sounds can be stored as part of the pattern, rather than...

IIRC, to use an HD diskette as DD you need to format it as one first. Something to do with different read/write levels... there's an old thread around here somewhere about this.

I'm looking at the Juno 60 Service Notes right now Not far off, but there's no 'sawtooth generator IC' - the key CV is multiplexed to an integrator (opamp, cap and transistor) which is clocked on or off by the timer pulse. The waveform is analogue all the way, but the timing signal is generated by ...

Schaeffer

I have no problems screwing my panels into wood, except the occasional inaccuracy of my drilling... you can buy threaded strips though fairly cheap.

For anybody geeky enough to care (which is why you're here after all): The juno 6 and 60 use the same basic layout, but the spacing is closer on the 60 than on the 6. The space at the end of the 6's panel was too small for the patch memory stuff the 60 sported, so they had to shift things over a tou...
