Sorry to hear of the downsize, Clueless. I'm sure you'll be able to find a good home for whatever you sell on (cough ;)). So here's a list based on keeping it compact: Poly: It's not perfect, but the nord rack gear should cover plenty of bases. Or a PER, using software as the interface. Or some old ...

You might need to be more specific about what equipment you are trying to connect. But I'll second the above, and say trawl through the Sonar help menu or manual, and see what it says about MIDI input device selection. If Sonar is anything like Cubase, there's a menu at the top for MIDI devices, and...

Call me thick, but what's the point of sending aftertouch via a modwheel? Surely if it's aftertouch, it's on the keys. I had a look at the manual, and AT is assignable to controllers, The PCR-x00 have keyboard channel AT. Not that amazing, then. Oh well, I suppose a new, cheap, true poly AT controll...

This place might have it. I can't check as I have the TX rather than DX, but worth bookmarking anyway.

Yeah, they're fun. I got mine cheap about ten years ago, but I'm not tempted to sell it for a hefty profit, even though that would be easy and I never use the thing. Something about it that says "keep meeee". It's good for sounding fat but rough. Pity there's no longer a Kenton mod for it though - i...

The only boxes I can't sequence from Cubase are the TR-606 and DR-55, so the 606 gets synced. I haven't recorded the little Boss yet, but it has no external sync capacity, so I'd probably sample it. When I had just one or two machines, I used to program beats into each one and have them all play in ...

I used to use a PC with Cubase SE (obsolete now) and an Edirol UA-25 USB audio interface (2 in, 2 out) with an old Midiman 2-port USB MIDI interface... but after some problems with this setup, I have moved to an iMac with Presonus Firepod audio interface (Firewire, 8 analogue in, 8 out, plus s/pdif ...

Well, some sound insight in this thread. I have the 01, 5 and 15, and think more or less like so: the CS01 is a funky toy, sounds bigger than it looks, and is great to mess about with. But if you want control, forget it. Kenton used to do a CV/Gate mod for it, but not any more. The CS5 is good - it'...

I can't get my head round these 2-oct things. I can't imagine using any less than 3 for a mono or 5 for poly stuff... nice big spread of notes, that's what you need... :)

Don't tell me you were fixing this while it was switched on..? IC2 on the ext in is a 4558 op amp, and it's cheap. But if you have no keyboard, then something else has gone, which may as you say just be a fuse. But if you don't know what you're doing, give it to someone who does. There are custom ch...

G4 iBook, new iMac (whatever the specs are, I can't remember) and a PC for DOS and windows 3.0.

I used to run a PC with XP but didn'g get on with it. It was a belligerent sod. The macs are smoother, and despite years of PC use, I'm glad I switched. I got bored of the battle.

The jack on the back of the Source has Gate on the ring, CV on the tip. It's not the only oddity in this respect - but I believe the original poster is using a Yamaha CS and a Bass Station, which use regular mono jacks, although it's necessary to also check the compatibility of CV and Gate voltage ...

Well, if this helps, I have a CS-15 that was shipped from Japan, and I run it in the UK using a convertor that puts out 110V, as it's not possible to get UK-Japan voltage convertors. It's fine. The voltage regulators inside the synth will change that into the correct DC from the unregulated AC, and ...
