Re: What to keep? + going modular
what MPK has CV outs? not finding anything about that on their site... http://www.akaipro.com/max49 +1 for trimming. I've got too many polys for my own good, and sold one the other week. Then I slipped and bought a replacement. Oh well. I did sell off a few monos though, and haven't missed them. Do...

Re: Noise removal before amplification or other way around?
Problem is my recording setup is not very good (laptop line-in, crappy homemade cables) Haven't you answered your own question there? It's no use saying "I don't want to buy more gear because it's unproductive" if your current setup is giving you enough trouble that you feel the need to combat it i...

Nice work, polyjuno. Not sure about the harmonies on the second piece, but I like that bass patch and the way you've clocked it with the TR. The layers in the first piece sound really good too - another nail in the coffin of the DCO detractors!

If you want to add analogue imperfections to a digital synth, you can do so with careful programming and intelligent processing. It's that simple.

Elby Designs PolyDAC, but you'll have to build it yourself.

Re: Suggest me rack equipment
How do you record your SH and P08? If you're recording a guitar, I would get a decent pre-amp with a DI, or a better quality interface - you can spend whatever you like on that stuff. You don't really need to compress synths unless it's for a specific stylistic reason, and I suspect your UAD will co...

Re: 8+ Voice, Dual VCO/DCO, and Layering Capabilities
Roland JX-10, with the PG-800 programmer for easier tweaking - 12 voice in single layer mode, 6 voice in layered. Each voice has 2 DCOs, noise, sync/and a bunch of modulation - not too much to get lost in, enough to get playful with. Layering two detuned 2-osc pads (with each osc detuned already) is...

Re: Juno 60 "JU-60" marking
the SH3 is actually a diode ladder. The whole thing about the sh3 vs the sh3a is a big myth, actually the 3a is closer to a moog ladder, but for some reason everywhere you look people say the earlier more 'rare' 3 sans A is the more sought after for having moog. Just a bunk internet rumour Whoops, ...

Re: MiniBrute vs CS-10/15
I looked into modding filter key-tracking, but it looks like the VCF chip needs a voltage at that input just to operate at all, so it would require a bit more engineering than I would want to attempt. Portamento from the CV inputs would also have been nice. Maybe some of the CS30 features like VCO ...

nathanscribe you're a bit mental lately  just because I said they seem like that doesn't mean they actually are. With all due respect, your statement came across as a bit of a troll or a 'senior moment'. My tolerance of pointlessness has diminished somewhat in the last few years. What have I l...

Re: Juno 60 "JU-60" marking
My Juno-6 (December '82, s/n 259xxx) has the JU-6 markings; my Juno-60 (July '83, s/n 32xxxx) does not have the JU-60 markings.

Re: Juno 60 question
Little known point of fact: After Nate left Korg (for reasons best left unsaid; however the original designation of the MS-series was the NS-series), he moved to Roland, where he was involved in the design of the Juno and then the Jupiter series. Actually I started both companies, and thought the o...

Always one of your type in every thread. Actually, I've been here rather longer than you, and I've been a moderator, and I've seen threads derail a lot worse than this one. Welcome to VSE, and I mean that, there's a lot of good info here - but this thread contains misinformation too (whether it was...
