Re: Can a Matrix 6R control a Matrix 1000?
DV? what this DV business... anyway ... DV is how you identify the variable parameter on a novation controller. You also do not use the F0 and F7 in the string you put into the editor i spoke to novation and they told me the editor isnt working right now. it doesnt appear to fill in length or datap...

Re: Mixer fuse blowing - smell of burning
Unfortunately, your "tech" botched something in a major way by what you are describing since a power supply causing a mains breaker to trip (not to mention the burning and fuse blowing) means that the device is pulling WAY more current than intended. Depending on where it is actually failing it may ...

Re: Roland MC-50 midi in not working
There are only several (~6) components in a midi in circuit so you should be able to diagnose it fairly easily, my guess would be oxidized terminals in the DIN connector

Re: Ableton Live 7 and Midi CCs for controlling hardware
To be fair, Logic is the only program I've used that's had that kind of feature. I've never found the need for it either, everything I use has knobs on it. You could always get a BCR and set it up with all the right parameters and then use it through Live, Live would record your tweaks and play the...

Re: Looking to build my own modular synth
there are tons. You should first decide which format you want to use and go from there. Many manufactures offer just PCBs, assembled boards, or both Others: http://www.cyndustries.com/bugmusic_2004.cfm http://synthesizers.com/ http://www.oakleysound.com/ http://www.synthtech.com/ http://www.doepfer....

Re: Damn TB-303
If you go and do this, DO NOT try pry up the switches at any point, just cut the leads from the side, remove the switch, and desolder the posts one at a time. The boards used on these are cellulose (i.e. cardboard) and it is really easy to lift the traces from them

Re: Can a Matrix 6R control a Matrix 1000?
Unless the 1000x editor, midiquest, and the cykong device panel all used the wrong set of commands, then I would have to say that the edit buffer one was used since they all behaved the same way. This has been discussed a number of times here and I have never seen a clear reason why it happens nor ...

Re: Name that potentiometer?
have you tried contacting rolands parts dept? Yes, but they want $16 (plus $6 shipping) for it. looks like an ALPS RK09-712200F-S might work. $1.80 at Mouser Electronics I've looked at the page with that pot and the others in the same range, they have a few vertical panel-mount, dual-gang 50k pots,...

Re: Can a Matrix 6R control a Matrix 1000?
Do you guys that are having the problems with tweaking the M1000 know exactly what sysex sequences are being sent? There's one set of sysex commands for modifying the edit buffer, and another one for writing directly to the patch memory. If you use the latter, I could see it behaving tha way. Unles...

Re: Can a Matrix 6R control a Matrix 1000?
I am curious if anyone has A/B'd the different ROM revs for the M1k for to see if there were improvements in this regard since it is really something to do with how the sysex is parsed that is causing the issue. Using the assignable controllers, it works flawlessly but those are stored on a patch by...

Re: Can a Matrix 6R control a Matrix 1000?
Your the one who actually turned me on the the bcr editor btw.. and yes i understand that technically it is not a hacked firmware, just a third party editor that goes well beyond what the device is capable of using the Behringer software. When I say "crashing", what happens is the thing freezes for ...

Re: Can a Matrix 6R control a Matrix 1000?
@altitude. ok it seems like the matrix 6r is the way forward. anyone is there an alternative product to the doepfer drehbank? it seems to be discontinued. Novation remote 0 or the Behringer BCR with 3rd party editor. The sysex implementation is straight forward (one variable type deal) but you need...

Re: Can a Matrix 6R control a Matrix 1000?
A bit off-topic, and probably covered a few times already, but how reasonable it is to expect that the Matrix 1000 could be controlled with just a modern MIDI controller (or another synth w/ knobs)? Well at least the filter cutoff / resonance settings and such? I know it isn't real-time, but would ...
