EDIT: the one redeeming factor of the multi is that is responds to CCs for all functions. The review on bluesynths.com, while a little overzealous, gives a good idea how this could be used in multitimbral setting.... I am sorry but that is not correct, the Multitrak ONLY responds to sysex and only ...

Perfect choice for a first synth. I would go for a 60 if you can find one though, patch storage is handy if you actually plan on playing out

Standard drill, take a meter out and start probing for shorts to ground or chassis starting at the power inputs on back... Something must be touching, I would be surprised if a component blew

look for a LM122, I scored a brand new one for $75 and it has 12 mono channels, a L/R send, and panning. Another cheap and decent option would be a rane SM26

For such a small amount there isn't anything that I'd buy, maybe get a rack fx unit with both analogue and digital IO, and by switching the input source you'll be able to use it as an A/D converter as well. +1. My Lexicon MX200 will do this and it will actually do 2 channels if you run the patch in...

From what I understand, Use and sonicore split the IP of creamware when it went belly up. With scope 5 coming soon, I wonder what the the Use Audio camp will be doing seeing that they are just repackaging old ASB stuff and none of it is compatible with Vista or Leopard (they added Tiger support in M...

whoa the TM3030 looks excellent, I'll have to jump on that if I ever finish building my FatMan  2 TM3030 + FatMan + PAiA 9700 = 6U DIY rack of win? It is nice, cheap, reasonably sourced parts, plus the Sequentix midi interface sounds excellent also, Colin knows his stuff and hopefully it shou...

100 CC's are available with feedback (for something like a BCR) per patch. I dont think I actually ever used the knobs on my MM, just mapped stuff to my controller from the start

with a drum synth with 8 track sequencer, full control surface, a bitimberal monosynth with X0X style sequencer, Didn't realise it had x0x programming and a drum synth, I should have read the info page more closely. :D I think those two may have pushed me over the edge into having to build one of t...

Wohoo we norwegian bastards getting TB-clones this summer. I'm actually going to build my own TB-clone. It's the Oakley TM3030. Actually it's a "build your own synthesizer"-class for youth. I've recently learned how to solder properly by building a Fuzz Face clone for guitar so I think I'll do just...
