um, hate to break this to you but you are now the proud owner of 4 switches, thats all it does. Just cut off the connector and put 1/4" TS connectors on it, this will work just like a sustain pedal x 4 For $5, if it does what it says it does (echo and reverb alone - me likey) then it's not such bad...

its a power supply smoothing cap. How exactly did it come out? It should be soldered down.

It definitely should have NOTHING to do with key problem. Like Stab said, take a volt meter and check continuity of the traces between the keyboard and the PCB it connects to
