Can you tell me what you lube them with?

Also, what's the best way to clean sticky pots & switches. I hear lots of different stories what should / shouldn't be used.

Good luck with it, looks great.

Pretty sure it's too big for a rack. The PCB is one board and it's wider than 19". Sure I've seen one as a desktop unit.

The MKS-7 doesn't have that many adjustable parameters so it really doesn't need a controller (although the parameters can be adjusted via midi.) I use the PG-300 Emulator program on the MKS-50, and it works just fine. MKS-7: same DCO/ VCF/VCA chips as Juno 106, but different architecture. A very c...

X-electrical is always a good place to give you istant GAS.... (There was a briefly lived shop further down towards chiswick that also stocked vintage gear, but I imagine it's gone now.) Unfortunately, the prices rarely make you want to take the dive. I'm still kicking myself for selling my mc-202 ...

Thanks for nothing Don  As for the Evolver, never really gelled with it. More likely to end up with a Prophet'08, though I'm not overkeen on rotary encoders. Is it just me, but the encoders on the P'08 seem too 'slow' ie. about 4 full turns of a pot to adjust filter cutoff all the way. Wish yo...

Bugger..... the Pro One

Well, I sold my Pro One back in '91 as it didn't have MIDI and it would have cost more than it was worth then for a MIDI-> CV convertor. Of course now I want it back, and have been looking around but can't justify paying current prices. Recently though I've been thinking, do I really want a Pro One ...

I've got W+W on Vinyl, the 94 CD and the recent box set remaster. I always feel that the drums sound like garbage on this record. I love the record nonetheless. The winning streak that Genesis had from "Selling" to "Wind" was unparalleled in the 70s. Agree, always thought the drum sounds on W+W and...

As far as tempo goes on the non-MIDIfied 808's, do you have to just kind of do your best with the dial and the tap tempo or is there some way to input a precise BPM that I'm not seeing? might if you have it chained as master to another piece of gear w/ a display...if the other display would show th...

I'm working mostly in experimental electronic music, but it's a tough question to answer. I'm also doing quite a bit of sound design for film. with those synths you got, I'd look more into the MEK for that. Agreed. You've already got 2 VAs and a wavetable synth since, the MEK would give something f...

Prices for JX10's seem to go for $350,to $500 on ebay these days,MKS-70 a little over $300, JX8p's are a dime a dozen, and sell cheap,Jx8p sounds a little less animated, than it's bigger brother, but all three instrument's have quality waveforms that sound really good without having to be drenched in...

Why would you want to get a choir, orchestral hit, or breathy sound using an analog or a VA? Because it's awesome, that's why. A sample-based machine doesn't give you the freedom to deviate again from that particular sound while a VA or analog will. Huh? Don't really get this, Of course a sample ba...

No - See Carbon's definition (or maybe just read the thread  ).

Boss DC-2 or Roland Dimension-D :). The former is basically the latter in pedal form...

Favourites for strings out of my stuff are Roland - I've some fab string samples for the S760.

Why wouldn't an evolver qualify?
Because it can't scan through the waveforms during a single note.
... the term is generally reserved for a synth that can scan through a table of waveforms with a modulator during the duration of a single note.
