Re: cc automation lanes within ableton?(hardware synths)

In theory you should be able to do that I think but really you might have more success using Live as the master clock.

Re: Waldorf Blofeld... The Little Wonder Synth of The Decade!

There's no bug in the delay as such -- it's just not very good :) The problem is that you can't adjust the delay parameters in real-time without glitching the h**l out of the audio; apparently it's due to some limitation of the DSP chip used in the Blofeld and there's no way around it. A lot of the...

Re: cc automation lanes within ableton?(hardware synths)

What exactly is it you want to do / can't do? Are you sure it can't be done in Ableton?

Do you want to draw or record the automation in?

You can have CC modulation envelopes in clips. And you can record CCs in arrange view. I think.

Re: cc automation lanes within ableton?(hardware synths)

There was a big post about this on the Ableton forum from Robert Henke a few months back talking about the varius problems involved with this, that they'd like to do it but it involves some very 'tricky' stuff to do with the basic logic of how the program works.

Re: Waldorf Blofeld... The Little Wonder Synth of The Decade!

for me, playing the synth means turning the knobs and manipulating it in real time. Oh sure, of course, but I don't really think of the Blofeld as that kind of synth seeing as it only has seven knobs. It's small and CC support is good so hooking up controllers is not much of a problem. If there's a...

Re: Waldorf Blofeld... The Little Wonder Synth of The Decade!

Multimode and clock sync are mostly OK.

I haven't noticed the volume pot thing but I would nearly always keep it on full and adjust the level of the part or just on the mixer.

Re: Waldorf Blofeld... The Little Wonder Synth of The Decade!

My biggest complaint with the Blofeld, and something that keeps me from using it, is that you can't adjust the volume while it's playing. The volume pot gets ignored while it's playing which is a major issue for me and the way I use gear. Really? I doubt this would be a big issue for many people. I...

Re: The Synth Only Drum Kit Challenge!

Nice idea.

One thing, whabout ROMplers using single-cycle waveforms, that's not really distinguishable from a digital oscillator is it?

Re: Korg Micro Sampler

Yeah but then what about the other effects, or filter envelopes, or LFO modulation?

I would really hope it has most of the stuff from the ESX, including motion sequences.

I'm guessing there is a bit more there than meets the eye though, I've got a fair amount of faith in Korg's designers.

Re: emu rob papen beat garDen rom set for proteus

Hey balma or anyone who might know, I asked this question on the XL7 list already but -

- if you have the Protean Drums ROM have you ever noticed one of the lower Ab keys 'missing' from the P10 Saw wave? It's as if there's a one note gap in the mapping or something.

Re: emu rob papen beat garDen rom set for proteus

Loop noises? Like looped 'noise' waveforms? That would be good yes.

The most useful things I think I are single cycle 'synth' waveforms though. A large variety of those would be best I reckon.
