Oh he'll definitely know about the discussion though.
I am following with interest even though I don't consider this to be a problem with what is an excellent versatile synthesizer.

Re: New LinnDrum II Design
I'd say there's definitely still room for a sequencer / sampler / analogue synth box if done right.
The only comparable things would be the MPC 5000 and the Spectralis and they're both expensive and not without issues.

Re: Technical discussion of DSI synths and their DCO pop
I note without making comment that low note priority is the default key mode setting.

Re: New LinnDrum II Design
I think he's absolutely right to play his cards close. When your competitors are Akai, Native and the Beatkangs... Best not to wait for something that may not happen though. You can invest now and sell it later on when the LDII turns out to be really good. I would like to see them do a machine with ...

Re: Technical discussion of DSI synths and their DCO pop
What synth used those? It's strange how the Evolver uses a modified 3396, but it sounds nothing like a Matrix 6 Not strange at all. It's the designer that determines the sound. When it's someone like Dave Smith, your dealing with a genius, by far the dominant component in the equation :) Well it's ...

The new DSI TETR4 looks like it could be fairly inconspicuous.
Baddum.

Re: Technical discussion of DSI synths and their DCO pop
It is interesting, but I wouldn't want anyone to get the impression it's much of a negative strike against the DSI gear. An option to have the OSCs reset on note-on might still be nice though, if that's what it is.

Re: Technical discussion of DSI synths and their DCO pop
I doubt it. This is really no big deal at all. Under most circumstances you'll only hear it if you go out of your way to, even then it's nothing much, and by the time it's in the mix... Honestly you'd have to be overly anal to be bothered by it at all. Certainly nothing that's going to stop you gett...

Re: Trigger Pro One Sequencer from Midi
How about just sending it an audio trigger pulse from a MIDI module? Anything would do it, a cheap drum machine, spare output on a sampler...
That way it would be clocked to your MIDI stuff as well.

Re: micro q or micro modular or juno 106
The question then is do you want to run everything 'live' or will you be recording and overdubbing?
The Juno is monotimbral, one sound at a time.
If that's OK and the price is good and it's in good condition it would probably be a good buy.

Re: micro q or micro modular
For what you want to do i think the Micro Q would be better suited. Would easily cover pads, leads and harmonies, probably at the same time. The Micro Modular is great but you won't get that much polyphony out of it (say more than a couple of voices, often just one) other than with very simple sound...
