I drove the whole store nuts with this for weeks, and the manager was pissed at me because I was being a mad scientist and not selling. I hated it when one of the synths I was using got sold, because it messed everything up. i would lose a finger to have been you. that's a perfect example of what w...

looking for VSE user clips. Scott Hey Scott, the link in my signature has Supernova 2 mp3's & a video. i can't say with any certainty how close the Nova will sound in comparison, but the patches are not very involved next to the ones i've been coming up with lately. i doubt a Nova would be far off,...

looks like a nice educational tool for teens or starters. the 1/8" headphone out and onbord sounds are the deal-killer, though. I'd love to see Yamaha make this with just MIDI up the wazoo....maybe a USB jack to sequence VSTs and simplify data dumps...but LEAVE OUT the shoddy audio implementation - ...

it's the most powerful Novation synth for the money. Bread & Butter deluxe...get the keyboard if you make lots of patches or need a full UI(live tweaking galore), or happen to actually play the thing by hand.. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/Aug01/articles/novaosv4.asp ...amazing what Google can do,...

the next step is to get a drum machine and make your own tracks. once you start you'll never look back! A sampling drum machine w/ a sequencer would give tons of flexibility...ESX-1, MPC, RS7000 w/ the LP & A Station thats a lot of coverage. Maybe add an FM synth or something with more upper frequen...

for Oberheim Matrix 6/1000 get a spare CEM 3396 or two. The voice chips can to go out after 15-20 years. M6 has wide body version (600mils), M1000 the small (300mils) one. for Korg Polysix , #1 hazard is battery leakage. Be sure to get full confirmation the PCB has not been leaked on before you buy.

Build quality seems to have been going to h**l consistently since about 1985 or so. More metal on metal or wood, please. For example, I'd really like to have a dedicated MIDI controller board, but refuse to buy because i still haven't seen one that isn't built like a flimsy p.o.s.. More knobbage is ...

Does this mean if the commies win you get to deal with the abolition of personal property?
If so, please let me know when you are having the "garage sale" :toothy8:

Re: Inputs?

Firstly, I'm not a fan of MIDI then you should probably stay away from synths and get a bass multi-fx unit or bass synthesizer pedal. Unless you know how to prgram, a synth isn't going to offer much for a bass player beyond filtering and envelope following, of which there are already many dedicated...

\ It does not have to be a "vintage sounding" bass/lead synth. I'm more interested in one that packs a full, solid punch. One that can be rich in harmonics on its own without FX/EQ, etc... How do the raw oscillators of the Pulse sound? I assume it has DCOs. Does it produce audible zippering when co...
