this has been covered in other discussions here, and they are searchable.

iirc : Supernova 2 adds more keys, knobs, buttons, waveshaping control, 8-program performance mode, 8 outputs, dual-filter mode, Doublesaw, another ADSR slider set, top-level FX access, and some more

So you're saying the Q+ doesn't do convincing VA? i'm saying it's not a v.a. it's a d.s.p.-based digital synthesizer. not all d.s.p.-based digital synthesizer are va's va means it uses exclusively 'analog'(=voltage manipulting) subtractive programming convention lingo to perform what are actually b...

it's simple:

stop obsessing over bullshit like this, and go do something else for a while.

or create your own non-tempered-scale instrument and take on the world

or don't. it's that simple, really.

there's all kinds of tricks used in dsp to get things done. In a single DSP-synth , the logic gates perform all sorts of different tasks. remember, you're not even using dedicated oscillators per se, but a % of the RAM and dsp available. Practically all software has some bugs in it.. interrupt the '...

they're played differently, so i'm biased by the performance and having trouble telling them apart beyond :

the 1st is murkier and sounds less stable pitchwise , less bandwidth
the 2nd is brash,w/ loads more highend and slightly deeper bass

i like 'em both but would get tired of the 2nd in a hurry

I've found that I'm not overly fond of the filters' sound on the Q (naturally the Q+ has the analog filters in addition to the types on mine, so I can't speak to them). It is very different from both the Virus and the XT, with a sharp brightness to it that you'll either like or not. It sounded a bi...
